43. A Chronology Of The Symphony 1730-1998
Lists major works by date published.Category Arts Music Styles Classical Forms Symphony...... 1852 Gade 5. 8, Rautavaara 3 (1962), Chavez 6 (1964), Milhaud 10, George Walker,Harrison 1962 Shostakovich 13 Babi Yar, Harris 8, Schuman 8, Hartmann 8 (1963
http://home.earthlink.net/~kgann/Symphony.html
I made the following list for a class I'm teaching on the symphony, and then it occurred to me that such a list might be of general interest. I compiled the works by date of completion, giving the date of premiere (if different) in parentheses; some works (the Berwald and Ives symphonies, for example) were premiered long after they were composed, and it seemed more appropriate to associate them with the point at which they entered the world. Besides, certain works have been known to have an impact in manuscript before their premiere. I have listed only works called "symphony," and no recent ones explicitly titled "Sinfonia" or "Sinfonietta." Since I am an American specialist, the list shows a certain American bias in the inclusion of minor composers. Naturally, many, many composers of symphonies are omitted (for example, Robert Simpson, Edmund Rubbra, John Becker, Peter Mennin, Joonas Kokkonen), simply because I had to stop somewhere. Dates are mostly from Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians , and are not guaranteed by the compiler. Please contact me at

44. German & Swiss Immigrants
Hartmann Hunsaker immigrated from the Palatinate of Germany or from Mary Jane Poewas born 1 May 1852 in Duckspring 3 June 1934 and is burried next to George.
http://home.earthlink.net/~kseitz/gerim.html
Although I have gathered these immigrant ancestors on a single page, they actually came in different eras for different reasons. The earliest were Swiss Mennonites, some of whom may have spent some time in German lands along the Rhine before immigrating to America to escape persecution. Later immigrants appear to have come primarily to improve their economic situations, although I cannot dismiss other motives. I have included only those ancestors about whom I have information beyond their names.

Francis Tillman (1842-1910)
Nicholas Beery Sr. (Bieri) was born either in 1697 or 1704, according to different theories that can be found at the website of Ray Beery Notable descendant: It's not my line, but John's and Dorethea's grandson, also John Cradlebaugh (1819-1873), was the federal judge who investigated the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre in Utah and later served as the colonel in charge of the 114th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. Anna Mary Engels was born Sept2. 2, 1807, in Geseke, Westfalen, Germany. She died March 2, 1866 in Loose Creek, Osage County, Mo. She married Anton Heinrich Tillman and had at least four children before coming to United States in 1846. They had at least one child after arriving.

    Descendants of Conrad Wetz
    Generation No. 1
C ONRAD W ETZ was born Abt. 1788 in Offenbach, Germany, and died October 14, 1846 in New Braunfels, Comal Co, TX.
Notes for C ONRAD W ETZ The following was taken from page 1486 of the Bremer Book on Conrad Wetz.
Conrad Wetz circa 1788 Offenbach d. /10/14/1846 New Braunfels of epidemic arrived 1845 on the Herschel apparently a widower accompanied by son Johann George. The other children followed later.
His children were: Johann Jost, Anton, Katherina, Johann George and Anna Elizabeth. *****Note - Research, however may prove that some were nieces and nephews, the younger strongest candidate for that being Johann Jost i the authors opinion, who might also even be a younger brother to Conrad. At any rate, all the Wetz are from the same family. Children of C ONRAD W ETZ are: 2. i. J OHANN J OST W ETZ , b. Abt. 1806, Offenbach, Amt Herborn, Nassau Germany; d. May 25, 1862, Texas. 3. ii.
