LEGEND: Surname Given Name (born-died) page # - if the page # is greater than and then # is underlined then its linked to that census year. Example: ADAMS Lewis Harrington(1830-1862) - Begining left column (1850) census he is not head of household next one is the 1860 census and he is head of household page 6 click on link to go there. Just remember the years start with 1850 going to right and there is no 1890 census.

    Brummett Cemetery
The Brummett Cemetery is located about 5 miles Northeast of the Bigfoot Post Office off Texas Highway 173 (from Devine to Jourdanton) on County Road 227. The Texas State Historical marker at the Cemetery reads "Brummett Cemetery - Between Old Laredo Road and Fort Ewell Road, in a locality accessible to the Pioneers, this cemetery was in use by 1860, as shown by gravestone of Elijah Ross, aged two. The burial ground was deeded to the public by Mrs. Kizzie Brummett on Sept. 21, 1889. Interments have included John T. Brummett (1815-81), the husband and father of the donors, Two Brummett daughters; Noted early Texas James Washington Winters (1817 - 1903), a veteran of The Battle of San Jacinto; also many Winters descendants. There are now (1974) about 275 graves." The plate on the gate reads: "In memory of my grandparents, Simon and Nancy Frazier" by Roland Frazier, February 1990. This survey was taken on December 28, 1997 by Tom Graham, and includes 399 marker listings. Efforts were made to assure the accuracy of this listing, but I could have made errors in reading of stones, and in transcribing the information to the web page. If you see any errors in this listing, please contact me. (Note that the gravestone of Elijah Ross mentioned on the Historical Marker was not found. There are many marked but unidentified graves and some markers are not legible.) Cemetery Listing Name Born Died Notes Links Adams, John Scott

Tuesday, April 01, 2003 Hamburg, Ashley County, Arkansas Home Local News Sports/Outdoors Opinions ... Guest Book Ashley County History Mount Olive Baptist Church Tombstones
The Mount Olive Baptist Church near Berea, viewed through the cemetery gate. Updated March 20, 2002 What follows below is a complete list of tombstones in the Mount Olive Baptist Church located northeast of Hamburg near the Berea community. While this list is complete as of the date above, there are many more graves in the cemetery which are not marked. Also, many of the graves were orginally marked by cedar trees which were blown down or else cut in the 1950s. The church and cemetery are located 12.7 miles northeast of the intersection of U. S. Highways 82 and 425 in Hamburg. To reach the cemetery, go 2.2 miles east of Hamburg on Highway 82, then turn northeast on Ashley Road 70 (Promise Land Road) and continue with no turns for 10.5 miles. The church and cemetery are located at N 33, 22.339, W 91 40.954. The listing below began with the tombstone listings compiled by the Col. Francis Vivian Brooking chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the 1960s. This revision includes many new burials since the DAR list was compiled and also corrects a few errors. The original typescript for the tombstone listings can be found in the genealogy section of the Ashley County Library in Hamburg.

This cemetery is located in Marion Township; S15-T61N-R23W. It is in a Baptist church yard, well kept, well fenced, with most graves excellently marked. Near the center of the cemetery is an interesting monument-no writing on it; but it is a glacial rock, set in cement, with a marble slab mounted on it. There are 39 Civil War soldiers buried there - 1924. The cemetery was recorded in 1964 by Mrs. B. F. Hoover, Mrs. D. Hesler and Mrs. V. Ralston.
