  • 63. From Auntie Kay, Uncle Ross And Scott
(Reflections at the funeral from Jeremy's adopted aunt and uncle,Kay and Ross Hill and their son and Jean and Bob's godson, Scott).
    http://www.st-matthew.on.ca/bulletin/jeremy/hill.htm
SOME MEMORIES OF JEREMY MICHAEL CHANDLER Reflections at the funeral from Jeremy's "adopted" aunt and uncle, Kay and Ross Hill and their son and Jean and Bob's godson, Scott The first time we saw Jeremy was just a little over 38 years ago. He was so tiny we could hold him in our 2 hands, and we called him Peanut. If we wanted to get Jeremy riled we would just call him Peanut or The Germ as some of his friends nicknamed him. When Jeremy was about 5 1/2 years old we all went to Expo 67 in Montreal. (This was a year before Lisa and Scott joined our lives). To give Bob and Jean a day to themselves we volunteered to take Jeremy and John away from our beautiful campsite in Terrabonne and go to a picturesque beach in the Laurentians. As we waded into the water with John in my arms and Jeremy between us, we were conscious of a severe drop off the bottom. All of the sudden we looked down, we were aware Jeremy was no longer there. While frantically searching and calling, we spotted Jeremy back on the beach, neatly arranging his towel to sunbath! Swimming lessons at the cottage were another experience as Jeremy loudly protested he was not going to swim and did not like the idea at all, only to become quite an accomplished swimmer when he set his mind to it.

    Callum Ross
    Associate Professor

    Ph.D., Duke University,
CROSS@mail.som.sunysb.edu Dr. Ross' research on the evolution of the primate head utilizes phylogenetic systematics, comparative morphometrics, electromyography, bone strain, and cineradiography techniques to address questions surrounding the determinants of primate skull form. Cineradiography (examples of a Lateral View and an AP View can be seen here) is used to document jaw kinematics. Bone strain analysis is used to investigate loading regimes in the anthropoid face in vivo and in vitro. Electromyography is used to explore relationships between bone strain, jaw kinematics and muscle activity patterns. Phylogenetic systematic techniques are being applied to the questions of the relationships of anthropoids to other primates. The preliminary results were published in Science (Feb. 7, 1997); a longer version of the paper was published in Journal of Human Evolution (Ross et al ., 1998). For further information and access to data matrices, go to Anthropoid Origins Dr. Ross is collecting fossil vertebrates in the lower Cretaceous Kirkwood Formation in South Africa in collaboration with

    Anthropoid Origins
In collaboration with Drs. Richard Kay and Blythe Williams at Duke University, a large morphological data set was collected from the dentition, cranium, and postcranium, and analyzed using PAUP. The results of these analyses were first published in Science . You may download the Science Matrix , the Science Character List , or a File Describing the Science Matrix . A more extensive analysis of a larger data set is currently in press in Journal of Human Evolution. The Matrix and Character List for that paper are available for download. Dennis Ross to Deliver JTS's Annual Abraham and Minnie Kay Memorial Lecture
Wednesday, November 13 at 7:30 PM Adas Israel Congregation, 2850 Quebec Street NW, Washington, DC FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CALENDAR LISTING PRESS CONTACT: Jane Calem Rosen jarosen@jtsa.edu INFORMATION: Carol Ansell, Adas Israel adasisrael@aol.com Send this to a friend NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 30, 2002 Dennis Ross Few are more qualified than former US Ambassador Dennis Ross to address the question Is Peace in the Middle East Possible? He will present his views at The Jewish Theological Seminary's annual Abraham and Minnie Kay Memorial Lecture , to take place on Wednesday, November 13 at 7:30 pm at Adas Israel Congregation, 2850 Quebec Street NW, Washington, D.C For twelve years, Mr. Ross played the leading role in shaping US involvement in the Middle East peace process as the point man in the administrations of both George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton, exploring every avenue and approach to resolving the conflict. A highly skilled negotiator, he was instrumental in guiding the Israelis and Palestinians toward the 1995 Interim Agreement and two years later, successfully brokered the Hebron Accord. He also facilitated the Israeli-Jordanian peace treaty and worked intensively to bring Israel and Syria together. His tireless efforts have been credited with shepherding the opposing parties through periods of progress and stalemate, advancing understanding whenever possible and refusing to accept failure as an option. He is now planning to write a book about his experiences in pursuit of peace over two decades as a career diplomat.

Welcome to our Home Building home page!
are building their new family home in Kellyville Ridge, NSW. We have now moved into our new house, which was handed over on the 21st of June 2002. Now we face the task of doing all of the things that the builder didn't - like fences and driveways and lawns. For updates, bookmark this URL. I have deliberately kept this page very simple to make it load fast, and because I am not a graphic artist. See our links page for companies and organisations that we dealt with along the way. We chose a 'Bayview' floorplan (based on plan #3) with the 'Federation' facade. Our house is a mirror image of the one in the picture because our block faces North. It has bricks like this rather than a rendered finish. Here is a page showing all the selections we made. Our intent is to regularly take photos and display them here . You can email us to get the latest details.

    18th July
Last night I rode our motorcycle up our new driveway for the first time and into the garage. It was much easier to start this morning, having not been left out in the weather. We have ordered some Austral Claylink blocks to complete the retaining wall between us and our neighbors. This was by far the cheapest option apart from pine logs, which we were forced to put under the fence due to time/budget constraints, but I don't really think they work all that well long term.

    Reporter: Ross Solly
LINDA MOTTRAM: The Federal Government will consider the health funds' applications for price rises in the coming week.
But it will come under pressure from the Opposition and consumer health groups to rein in spiralling private health costs, especially in light of its campaign to force Australians to take out private health insurance.
The Federal Health Minister is Kay Patterson. She spoke to Ross Solly.
KAY PATTERSON: Look, they make application to the Department, I haven't actually seen, but I believe some of the funds are asking for an increase.
