Men's Head Coach Stan Kerr Women's Head Coach Marcia Mecklenburg Assistant Coach Renee Scott Assistant Coach Dan Hilton STAN KERR Men's Head Coach In his fourth tour of duty at Eastern, Kerr is in his seventh season as head men’s track and field coach. He coaches Eastern competitors in the jumps and pole vault. Returning in the fall of 1995 as an assistant coach, Kerr took over in January of 1996 as Eastern’s head men’s coach. He first came to Eastern as an undergraduate in the late 70’s and returned as a graduate assistant coach from 1991-93. After stops at the University of Montana and Spokane Falls Community College, Kerr came to EWU in the fall of 1977. He had a career-best 48.4 time in the 400 meters in 1978 that just misses a spot on Eastern’s top 10 all-time list. However, he ran legs of relay teams in 1979 that own school records in the 800-meter sprint medley (1:31.38) and the mile relay (3:12.57). Kerr received his bachelor’s degree in outdoor recreation from Eastern in 1980. He was community program director at the Seattle YMCA from 1985-91 before returning to school and receiving his master’s from EWU in 1993. After he left Eastern in 1993, Kerr became head men’s coach at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He specialized in jumps, sprints, hurdles and relays, and coached the 1995 NCAA Division III women’s high jump champion. He and his wife Saralynn have two sons, Tully (10) and Carson (5).

Stan Lee, pappy to such comic creations as Spider-Man and the X-Men, launched his new site, StanLee.net , this week featuring weekly, three-to-five-minute long, episodic superhero adventures. The company hopes these "Webisodes" will become the comic books for the Y2K generation. With a celeb-studded gala opening at Raleigh Studios, kid at heart Stan and his cohost, eternal teen Dick Clark , presented the site's initial offering, the 7th Portal, a group of costumed heroes and heroines. Alan Grainger Kerr Alan Grainger Kerr was born in Dunstan, Otago, New Zealand in September 1891. Alan Grainger Kerr was born in September 1891 at Crookston, Otago, New Zealand. He was born one of twelve children to John Grainger Kerr and Cecelia Kerr (nee Buttars), both parents were born in Scotland. The first seven years of Alan's life were spent on the family farm in Crookston, Otago. The family then moved to the North Island of New Zealand settling first at Waihau Bay and then Opotiki in the Bay Of Plenty. Alan's father, John, died in 1901 of Brights disease ( a disease of the kidneys). His mother, Cecelia opened the first registered maternity home in Opotiki, named the "Strathallen" after the ship that bought her and her family from Scotland to New Zealand. Alan was a blacksmith by trade, he had learnt the trade in Opotiki in a blacksmith shop at the back of the Royal Hotel. He also worked as a blacksmith along the coast of Opotiki at Ohaewai. He was very athletic in his younger days and was in the Opotiki Representative Rugby team in 1913 and had won medals in swimming and cycling. He passed his love of Cycling down to his son, grandson and great grandson.
