Delana EPPERSON was born in Dickson Co., TN about 1821, supposedly walked trail of tears age 16, married Jacob COOK, had three daughters, Cathern who married Reuben MOORE, parents of Mary Delena. Lucena married William Jackson LONG, parents of Thomas Melvin LONG who married cousin Mary Delena. All lived in NE Oklahoma. Thomas and Mary were parents of my grandfather, James Alfred LONG born Feb. 1894 or 1896 in Indian Territory. All are buried Russell Creek Cemetery in OK. Delena married HEATH, then WILLIAMS, died as Delena WILLIAMS. Grandfather, his sisters who still live in Miami, OK remember going to be registered as Cherokees, but never could provide proofI have looked for years and cannot find any record in Dawes Roll. They first thought roll#101 Thomas Long was their father, but research showed that he was too young at the time. ANY HELP to proove or completely disprove this story would be totally awesome.
