COLLEGIO ARTIGIANELLI Corso Palestro 14 Il collegio subì altri traslochi (in via della Zecca, oggi via Verdi, e successivamente in Via Villa della Regina), fino al trasferimento (marzo 1863) nella sua sede definitiva, appositamente costruita, in corso Palestro 14. Don Cocchi, che era il fondatore, diresse il collegio fino al 1852. Poi si trasferì a Cavoretto, sulla collina di Torino, per impiantarvi una colonia agricola. Nella direzione lo sostituirono il teologo Giacinto Tasca e il teologo Pier Giuseppe Berizzi, fino al 1863, quando Berizzi rimase come unico rettore. La Voce del Popolo Nel momento in cui il Murialdo accettava la carica di rettore, i ragazzi ospiti del collegio erano circa 150. Il loro numero crebbe negli anni seguenti, fino ad arrivare a 180-200, a seconda delle epoche. Essi frequentavano 4 classi elementari (diventate 5 nel 1890) e un corso complementare. Verso i 12 anni potevano poi accedere ai laboratori per un tirocinio che durava fino a 19 anni. Il Murialdo cercò di perfezionare la formazione intellettuale e tecnica impartita nelle scuole e nei laboratori. Questi ultimi erano 5 nel 1867 e salirono a una decina durante il lungo rettorato del Murialdo: tipografi compositori, tipografi stampatori, litografi disegnatori, litografi stampatori, falegnami-tornitori, scultori, sarti, calzolai, legatori di libri, fonditori di caratteri e fabbri ferrai.
