This list leaves out buildings in Hanover, N.H., which appear in Appendix B. The list expands on one begun by Gerald Gatz, with the bulk of the projects coming from a series of sheets on which Rich recorded commissions of the firm, usually by the client's last name. In many cases the client can only be speculated at; a single project may be described by the name of the building or its owner or in different places by each; some buldings that Rich described were never built. The dates I ascribe to most buildings are the years in which Rich recorded them, not necessarily when the buildings were built, though the two are usually close. I have preserved Rich's order for buildings not dated by outside sources since he seems to have listed his projects consecutively. There is also a difficulty in reading some of Rich's writing, which a question mark in brackets indicates. Since Rich seems to have compiled the list well after the projects occurred, he occasionally made mistakes in spelling or attribution. Please
