But, if the critics want to disregard the New Testament, then they must also disregard other ancient writings by Plato, Aristotle, and Homer. This is because the New Testament documents are better preserved and more numerous than any other ancient writing. Because they are so numerous, they can be cross checked for accuracy...and they are very consistent. There are presently 5,686 Greek manuscripts in existence today for the New Testament. If we were to compare the number of New Testament manuscripts to other ancient writings, we find that the New Testament manuscripts far outweigh the others in quantity. Back Jails Take Steps to Raise Awareness about Domestic Violence Jail officials across the country have found themselves joining other criminal justice agencies to fight the ongoing cycle of domestic violence. With many jurisdictions reporting that domestic violence crimes rank among the top offenses in a facility, many leaders are adding components to combat this trend. The efforts made by jails and sheriff's departments vary from assisting victims in filling out paperwork to providing batterers with an understanding of where their desire for power over another comes from. "Our basic goal in doing this is to raise awareness about abuse. We offer education not therapy while working with the men. There are a lot of misconceptions that [abuse is] caused by alcohol and stress and those things can make it worse, but that isn't the cause.
