LINKS WORTH A LOOK
A diverse and international directory of family-related links. The only thing in common with these web sites is that they are designed or maintained by,
or contain names of, folks with the Schleis, Seigfried, Schnitzler or Willig surnames. Barb and Dave Yoder make their home in Akron, Ohio. Their home page is a tribute to their lives and their children. Read poems to their five kids, see Dave's album collection, and visit the Maddog Memories book, even if you won't understand it! Mike and Loretta also make their home in Akron. Their home page is actually a collection of four sites - one for mom and dad and one for children Jeffrey and Shaelyn. Each site is a fun compilation of their interests, with lots of stuff to see and do. (Mike's parents are Steve and RoseAnn [Seigfried] Schleis.)
SURNAME LINK: Schleis, Seigfried, Schnitzler, Willig Akron is also home to Tom and Paula Freeman. Their extensive web site includes a book club where you can read reviews by family members and submit your own, play the music selections on Paula and Tom's personal jukeboxes, see lots and lots of family pictures, and hear what's up with everyone on the very busy family message board. (Tom's parents are Susanna [Schleis] and Jerry Freeman.)

Muster at Gonzales THE RUNAWAY SCRAPE
by Steve Goodson With the fall of the Alamo, the Texicans and their families set out on a retreat before the advance of Santa Anna's army. Reprinted by permission from Enchanted Rock Magazine , Vol. 2, No.13 March, 1996 On March 9, Sam Houston issued orders to Neill, commanding Gonzales, and James Fannin, commanding the 400 men at Goliad, to link up and go to the relief of San Antonio. John Holland Jenkins, a thirteen-year-old from Bastrop was one of the volunteers who arrived at Gonzales and in his memoirs, Recollections of Early Texas, described his feelings: "As I found myself among friends and acquaintances, with all of a growing boy's appetite for good beef, bread, and adventure, I thought there had never been such fun as serving as a Texas Soldier marching against Mexico. But, upon arriving at Gonzales, things began to wear a more serious aspect now that I comprehended more fully the situation in all of its bearings, and in the still hours of the night as we lay and listened to the low ominous rumbling of cannons at San Antonio, I felt that we were engaged in no child's play. I now began to take in all of the responsibility, danger and grandeur of a soldier's life." Sam Houston arrived on March 11 and Jenkins recalled, "I though I had never seen so perfect a model of manliness and bravery, and my admiration knew no bounds. Calling the men together at DeWitt's tavern in Gonzales, he delivered a short speech setting forth in stirring words the complications of troubles that threatened our Republic, finally closing with a rousing appeal to every Texan to be loyal and true in that hour of need and peril. I yet consider him about the finest looking man I ever saw, as he stood over six feet tall, in the very prime of mature manhood."

By Glenn Slocum
A full moon and temperate weather welcomed the Pepsi and American Racer Empire Super print Tour 2002 to Eriez Speedway. Mike Stetler led every lap but was disqualified and Rya Coniam was awarded the win for his Empire Super Sprint first main event of the year. There were twenty-eight sprint cars competing and total of one hundred and sixty four cars in the pits.Randy Lobb broke the ice for his first feature win of the year in the Super Late Model division. John Pencille made it two in a row and won a caution filled Outlaw Cadet event. Dave Surrena and Steve Keith won the Spectator events and Tom Liberatore won the Four Cylinder feature. Bobby Rohrer won the Limited Late for his second win of the season.
The first Spectator feature was lead to the speedway by Brian Larson. Rich Becker spun on lap one for the first yellow. Larson led till lap three when Dave Surrena moved from fourth to first. Barrett Brown who had run second the entire race lead lap seven but Surrena recovered quickly and passed Brown with one to go and held on for the win. Brown finished second and Larson was third.
Dennis Lumger and Brian Johnson were on the front row for Spectator feature number two. Steve Huling rolled over in traffic on lap one, Huling was okay but his car left the speedway on the hook. Steve Keith moved from fourth to first on the first lap and began to run away from the field. Dana Wellington charged to second on lap three but lost the handle and nearly spun then fell back to the rear of the field. Mike Harmon stopped on the front stretch on lap four for the second caution of the event. Keith, Matt Thomas and Mike Boyd were the leaders after the restart but Dan Shellhouse brought out caution three. Shellhouse brought out caution four with a right rear flat and was towed from the speedway. Wellington spun on the restart but Steve Keith went on to win the race with Dave Auge second and Boyd third.

The first students to attend the School of Applied Science and Technology were the sons of Pittsburgh's mill workers. They came to pursue a three-year diploma or a two-year certificate. Many did not have high school diplomas. No matter - Arthur Arton Hamerschlag, first director of the Schools, had no college degree.

I was having that sort of problem myself, though I think it might have
admitted to being the cpp getting the signal; anyway, something in gcc
gets "fatal signal 11", so I gcc -E'd the file, same thing.
So I looked and discovered that between the MCC 0.96 base distribution
and the then-current MCC gcc disks, I had two different (diff: binariy files
cpp and /lib/cpp differ) copies of cpp, so I moved one to cpp~, symlinked,
and everything worked fine. I don't know why it started breaking, or what
