The cultural history of the city is permanently marked by the heady mixture of 1920s gangster chic and jazz influences, set alongside a strong foundation of theatre, dance, art and architecture.
To keep abreast, the free weekly, The Reader , and New City Chicago Tribune has up-to-date cultural critiques and comment, particularly on Fridays, as well as good listings on their website ( www.metromix.com www.choosechicago.com
