AUTHOR INDEX TO OUR YOUNG FOLKS
Our Young Folks published works by almost every nineteenth-century writer for children, from Sophie May to Harriet Beecher Stowe; it also featured fine engravings, including a handful by Winslow Homer. While the periodical's run ended in 1873, because my interest is only in works through 1872, the last year is not indexed here. Alphabetized by author's real name (where known); use control-F to search for pseudonym. Author's birth/death dates appear after the name; titles are in alphabetical order. Number after each title is made up of the following: year.month.pages. For pieces of music, listed author wrote the words to the song. For engravings, "drawn by" is the one given credit, except in the case of Landseer and of Frederick Church. KEY: /chromo = chromolithograph; /e = engraving; /p = piece is a poem; /s = piece is music

AUTHOR INDEX TO ROBERT MERRY'S MUSEUM
The Museum featured works by almost every nineteenth-century writer for children, from Jacob Abbott to Sophie May; it also excerpted works for adults, among them Herman Melville. Especially during 1857-1867, the magazine printed pieces written by its subscribers: some adults, many not. Alphabetized by author's real name (where known); use control-F to search for pseudonym. Except for Melville, ONLY SIGNED PIECES ARE LISTED HERE. Author's birth/death dates appear after the name; pseudonyms are listed just before titles, which are in alphabetical order. Number after each title is the year the piece was printed. Authors who were subscribers are marked with an asterisk (*). For page numbers, see " By title ". Some works are transcribed at this site KEY: /i = illustrated piece; /p = piece is a poem; /s = piece is a song, with music

INVENTORY
J. Willard Marriott Library, Manuscripts Division
University of Utah
You are the person to visit this page since October 7, 1998. This inventory was prepared by Dorothy Mortensen in November 1997. The Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Phillips Camp Biographies (ca. 1940-1974) is a collection of biographical sketches of Utah pioneers submitted to the Phillips Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, in Kaysville, Utah. Most of the sketches were written by descendants of the subjects; some by the subjects themselves; and others were prepared by the Phillips Camp historian. The biographies were collected in honor of early Utah pioneers and were written, in most cases, during the 1940s and 1950s. A few were written during the 1960s, with one or two prepared as late as 1974. Over the years, the binders containing the sketches "were lost," stored at the home of the last known custodian of the material, Edna Roberts Smith. Upon her death, the binders were given to Roselyn Woodward Slade, a member of the board of the Davis, Kaysville Company, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Included with the collection is a Souvenir Dedicatory Program, Davis Stake Kaysville Fourth-Fifth Ward Chapel September 6, 1959
