HOLLY SPRINGS BAPTIST CEMETERY
Spartanburg Co., SC
By Judith Mitchell Bennett
The address is 251 Hannon Road.
Holly Springs Baptist Church is located on Highway 357, west of Inman, Spartanburg, SC and was established before 7 Nov 1834, when the church
constitution was rewriten after the loss of the original. The early congregation
met at a spring lined with holly plants. The church was then called Holly Spring
Baptist Church of Christ for these early surroundings. Later, the neighborhood
became known as the Holly Springs Community.
There are about 1350 documented gravesites. Many of the older grave are marked
only by fieldstones. Sadly, there are no records remaining for these oldest burials. The below listed records are maintained in the church office. Not all listings represent a death. As in many cemeteries, headstones are often erected prior to death. If there are questions, you may contact me at judibennet@aol.com. Dreamland Cemetery, Hall County, Turkey, Texas
Photos by Anne Chappell. Cemetery Inscriptions provided by Tammy Sharp. Dreamland Cemetery is divided into 2 sections "West" and "East" by the highway. Each section is further divided "North" and "South" by a road down the center of the cemetery. This is how we have divided the layout of the cemetery in our census. Further, each row was enumerated from the highway to the east or west. And from the north end of each row to the south end. For a Alphabetical listing see: * Dreamland
