The Ahnentafel or list of my Forebears
Usually the Ahnentafel (German for "Table of Forbears") lists only the two parents of each person. In this expanded version, the forebear's children are included as well, so that they might serve as a connection for others. An asterisk (*) indicates the continuing descent. An underlined ID number links to more information about that person, which is usually a family sheet. It's here on the family sheet that you will find an overview of their life. From there, links connect to everything else available here about them and their immediate family. This same process is repeated over and over. Whereas the number of ancestors doubles each generation, the general population grows smaller. See " Double Duty First Generation - Number 1 1. John Longstreet Rhymes 1927- (

June 28, 2000 Yorkshire Families Proudly Display Signs By Joan LeBlanc
    Staff Reporter
The Trueman family was among the first to receive their family sign in promotion of Yorkshire 2000 which kicks off in August. Here, from left, are Susan, Ronald, James, Mary-Ellen, Cheryl, Isabel and Howard Trueman (grandson of the first Howard Trueman) who is sitting in a corner armchair brought from Yorkshire in 1774 by the original Truemans, William and Ann. As the date for the Yorkshire 2000 reunion moves closer, many Yorkshire descendants in the Tantramar area will be displaying family heritage signs. And if you don't have one for your front porch it's not too late to order one. Kelly Donaher at the Yorkshire 2000 reunion office in Sackville said recently signs can be purchased for $11.50 each, tax included, by calling the office at 536-2541. "The signs are being produced as a way of noting a families' Yorkshire heritage and will be also be used to distinguish families at the Parade of Families during the celebrations in August," Donaher said. She noted that the rose inside the O in the word Yorkshire is the symbol for the Yorkshire rose, like the one on the flag which flies over Yorkshire, England.

August 11, 1999 All Along The Watch Tower By Katie Tower
Gambling Gadget A device that was recently introduced to try to kick people of their gambling habit has got to be one of the most absurd things I have ever heard of. Last week, two Maritime companies introduced a wireless product to help problem gamblers address their compulsive playing of electronic gaming machines called the PAGIS system. Using double-distance radio frequency technology, the system consists of a board installed inside electronic gaming machines such as VLTs and Slots, and a mobile unit worn by the gambler. While the mobile unit can take many forms, the most popular is that of a "discreet, unobtrusive" bracelet resembling a watch or an ID bracelet. When the wearers enter an establishment equipped with the PAGIS system they can still freely enjoy the goods and services available except for VLTs or slots. If they come within three metres of one of these machines, it emits an audible tone to alert them to the fact that they have entered a "risk" area. If they ignore the warning and continue to approach the machine to attempt to play, the machine will automatically suspend operation. As soon as they move away from the machine, it will then return to continuous play mode.

There are also Huntington, Wilkes-Barre, Kingston, Plymouth, Exeter, and Pittstown (I guess that's Pittston) plus others; some no longer in Luzerne County. There are not many names in each town listed. The list of Salem Township is complete. BOOK OF THE FIFTEEN TOWNSHIPS SALEM TOWNSHIP. MICHAEL SYBERT. Sub. 428. Oath filed. Claims lot N o . 4 in the second division of this Township.
See his title entered in the former Commissioners' book of titles of Salem Township.
On Application to the former Board of Commissioners it was alledged that the Claimant held this Land under a Pennsylvania title and therefore this claim for that reason was rejected, but it now appears from the Statement of Alexander Jameson, esquire, one of the town Committee, that a considerable portion of this lot, is not included in the Pennsylvania claim refered to by the former Board, and is therefore admitted by the present Commissioners. This book needs no introduction to the people of the Isthmus, whom it
will most interest. I shall therefore attempt only to point out the
plan the present work will take in the general history of Eastern
    Canada.
Mr. Trueman does not profess to have attempted a complete history of
the Isthmus. The earlier periods, prior to the coming of the Yorkshiremen, are so replete with interest that a many times larger work than the present would be necessary for their full consideration, but Mr. Trueman has treated them with sufficient fulness to show the historical conditions of the country into which the Yorkshiremen came. It is the history of these Yorkshiremen and their descendants which Mr. Trueman treats so fully and authoritatively, and withal, from a local
