Îäíà èç ñàìûõ íåçàóðÿäíûõ ôèãóð ýïîõè Âîçðîæäåíèÿ. Ïðèðîæäåííûé áóíòàðü, âåë æèçíü, ïîëíóþ ïðèêëþ÷åíèé, êðîâàâûõ ññîð è äàæå ïðåñòóïëåíèé. Îí áûë îáëàñêàí ïàïàìè Êëèìåíòîì VII è Ïàâëîì III. Ïî çàêàçó ïðàâèòåëÿ Ôëîðåíöèè Êîçèìî I ñîçäàë åãî áþñò è ñâîþ ñàìóþ çíàìåíèòóþ ñòàòóþ - Ïåðñåÿ-ïîáåäèòåëÿ. Ïî ïîðó÷åíèþ êîðîëÿ Ôðàíöèè Ôðàíöèñêà I îí ó÷àñòâîâàë â óêðàøåíèè êîìïëåêñà Ôîíòåíáëî. Àâàíòþðíàÿ æèçíü, ê òîìó æå åùå ðàñöâå÷åííàÿ íåóêðîòèìîé ôàíòàçèåé, èçîáðàæåíà â êíèãå "Æèçíü Áåíâåíóòî ×åëëèíè, ôëîðåíòèéöà, íàïèñàííàÿ èì ñàìèì âî Ôëîðåíöèè", êîòîðóþ îí ïðîäèêòîâàë ó÷åíèêó â 1558-1566 ãã. è êîòîðàÿ áûëà îïóáëèêîâàíà ëèøü â 1728 ã., - åäâà ëè íå ñàìîé óâëåêàòåëüíîé àâòîáèîãðàôèè â èñòîðèè ìèðîâîé ëèòåðàòóðû. (1500-1571)
