ALL THAT LOVE ASKS
"ALL that I ask," says Love, "is just to stand
And gaze, unchided, deep in thy dear eyes;
For in their depths lies largest Paradise.
Yet, if perchance one pressure of thy hand
Be granted me, then joy I thought complete
Were still more sweet." "All that I ask," says Love, "all that I ask,
Is just thy hand clasp. Could I brush thy cheek
As zephyrs brush a rose leaf, words are weak
To tell the bliss in which my soul would bask.
There is no language but would desecrate A joy so great." "All that I ask, is just one tender touch Of that soft cheek. Thy pulsing palm in mine, Thy dark eyes lifted in a trust divine And those curled lips that tempt me overmuch Turned where I may not seize the supreme bliss Of one mad kiss. "All that I ask," says Love, "of life, of death. Or of high heaven itself, is just to stand, Glance melting into glance, hand twined in hand, The while I drink the nectar of thy breath, In one sweet kiss, but one, of all thy store, I ask no more." "All that I ask "nay, self-deceiving Love, Reverse thy phrase, so thus the words may fall

We sigh for some supreme delight To crown our lives with splendor, And quite ignore our daily store Of pleasures sweet and tender. Our cares are bold and push their way Upon our thought and feeling. They hang about us all the day, Our time from pleasure stealing. So unobtrusive many a joy We pass by and forget it, But worry strives to own our lives And conquers if we let it. There's not a day in all the year But holds some hidden pleasure, And looking back, joys oft appear To brim the past's wide measure.

So after Love has led us, till he tires Of his own throes, and torments, and desires, Comes large-eyed friendship: with a restful gaze, He beckons us to follow, and across Cool verdant vales we wander free from care. Is it a touch of frost lies in the air? Why are we haunted with a sense of loss? We do not wish the pain back, or the heat; And yet, and yet, these days are incomplete. Poems by Women MIDSUMMER After the May time and after the June time
Rare with blossoms and perfume sweet, Cometh the round world's royal noon time, The red midsummer of blazing heat, When the sun, like an eye that never closes, Bends on the earth its fervid gaze, And the winds are still, and the crimson roses Droop and wither and die in its rays. Unto my heart has come this season, O, my lady, my worshiped one, When, over the stars of Pride and Reason, Sails Love's cloudless, noonday sun.

The Evolution of Wiccan Ethics
King Who
I apologize for not getting this paper out sooner - I am working on my second book and I have not had the time to piece my research together. Below are some messages I have received in response to my work which cover some very useful information on King Pausole. It is great to see others taking such an interest in researching these things since it is sadly lacking in most "authoritative" works on Wicca. Join the announcement list to be informed when the essay is online. The below letter from David R. Jones was compiled from his much more extensive paper which he was kind enough to share during my initial inquiries into the "Good King Pausol" reference made by Gerald Gardner. About the Author

Do you remember those kiddie Valentines you used to use in the 3rd grade?
Little cards, somewhat bigger than your business card? They run maybe $2 for 40 in my area. One of my favorite things to do is to come in to work early, on Valentine's day, and place these into people's inboxes, anonymously. It's a small way to bring smiles to people's faces. I wonder

56. Dyer Nov 2000
Through the narrow aisles of pain. – Ella Wheeler Wilcox (18501919).A theatrical personality attracted to Spiritualism, Theosophy
http://www.phenomenews.com/archives/nov2000/dyer.html
Solitude
by Wayne Dyer Laugh, and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone. For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth, But has trouble enough of its own. Sing, and the hills will answer; Sigh, it is lost on the air. The echoes bound to a joyful sound, But shrink from voicing care.
Rejoice, and men will seek you; Grieve, and they turn and go. They want full measure of all your pleasure, But they do not need your woe. Be glad, and your friends are many; Be sad, and you lose them all. There are none to decline your nectared wine, But alone you must drink life’s gall.
Feast, and your halls are crowded; Fast, and the world goes by. Succeed and give, and it helps you live, But no man can help you die. There is room in the halls of pleasure For a long and lordly train, But one by one we must all file on Through the narrow aisles of pain. – Ella Wheeler Wilcox
A theatrical personality attracted to Spiritualism, Theosophy, and mysticism, Wisconsin-born Ella Wheeler Wilcox was much loved by the readers of her volumes of poetry and her syndicated column of prose and poetry.
The title of this poem is “Solitude.” I think a far more fitting title would be “Attitude”! What Ella Wilcox is saying to us via this oft-quoted poem is that whatever attitude you decide to adopt is precisely what you will attract into your life. Think sad and you attract emptiness. Think mirth and the world will laugh right along with you. This beautifully simple poem is also a very elementary presentation of energy field theory, written before fields of energy were contemplated.

Settle the Question Right
The Euthanasia Laws Act 1997 was passed by the Australian Federal Parliament in the early hours of 26 March 1997 and was signed into effect by the Governor General on 27 March. The Act outlawed the Northern Territory's Rights of the Terminally Ill Act 1995 and prohibited any other voluntary euthanasia legislation in the Australian Territories. There was intense media coverage of the decision, including a full page article in the Week End Australian of 29-30 March. Headed "Holy Alliance", this article documented the role of an influential Catholic dominated network in undermining the democratic process to the extent that a majority of senators were able to convince themselves that they were right to ignore the clear wishes of the Australian people. (See The Death of Compassion Lynda Cracknell, President of the NT Voluntary Euthanasia Society, quoting "An Inspiration" by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, provided a fitting comment on this sad demonstration of the fallibility of our democratic process: However the battle is ended
