The Institute for Water Resources welcomes Professor Peter Rogers, Gordon McKay Professor of Environmental Engineering and Professor of City Planning at Harvard University . For the next six months, Professor Rogers will be engaged in several activities including the Resources for the Future effort in defining a new approach to planning and a comparison of river basin management in the Australia Murray-Darling basin and the Colorado River basin. Professor RogersÂ’ research interests include:
  • the consequences of population on natural resources development conflict resolution in international river basins improved methods for managing natural resources and the environment, with emphasis on the use of analytic optimizing methods to incorporate both the natural phenomena and the engineering controls the impacts of global change on water resources, and the development of indices of environmental quality and sustainable development.
Professor Rogers has carried out extensive field and model studies on population, water and energy resources, and environmental problems in Costa Rica, Pakistan, India, China, the Philippines, Bangladesh and, to a lesser extent, in 25 other countries. His most recent work has focused on the relationship between Chinese electric power developments and their impact on global warming. READ MORE . . .

Welcome to the USGS Web page for the water resources of Washington State. This is your direct link to all kinds of water resource information. Here you'll find information on Washington's rivers and streams. You'll also find information about ground water, water quality, and many other topics. The USGS operates the most extensive satellite network of stream-gaging stations in the state, many of which form the backbone of flood-warning systems. The USGS conducts studies of water resources throughout the state, such as watersheds and aquifers. These studies help define the quantity and quality of the water, conditions of ecological habitat, and relations to land use and natural features. Once collected and analyzed, data and information from all of our studies and monitoring are published in reports. For more information on our wide variety of water resource topics, choose a link from the menu on the left. If you don't find what you're looking for, please use the "

The Arizona Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) was established in 1957 to facilitate university research at all three Arizona universities on water problems of critical importance to the state and region. Located within the College of Agriculture at the University of Arizona, the WRRC administers the Federal 104 grant program authorized by the Water Resources Research Act of 1964. Related missions are to communicate water-related research needs from research users to researchers and to report research findings to potential users of that information. The WRRC also works with public and private organizations and individuals and provides information and services through a publications program, including two newsletters, conferences and symposia, and through outreach.
