investigations. In environmental engineering, he uses computer modelsto predict the fate of pollutants in the natural environment.
http://www.neoperceptions.com/crew1.htm
Who We Are neoPERCEPTIONS was created by Gene Ott. Gene is not a computer geek or hacker; he is a computer user. To him, computers and computing are valuable tools which should be used to perform work efficiently in order to accomplish desired goals and objectives. It is this utilitarian view of computer technology which Gene brings to the table to help his clients achieve their goals. Gene has been using computers throughout his professional career. In research, he used computers to mathematically simulate fuel tank fuel/air conditions for fire and explosion suppression investigations. In environmental engineering, he uses computer models to predict the fate of pollutants in the natural environment. Nearly every day he uses computers for word processing, graphics production, data storage and analysis, report production, and information exchange. He has written many computer programs in various languages including, Fortran, Basic, and Visual Basic. Since 1995, he has designed, implemented and maintained many websites using HTML, JavaScript, and JAVA. His premier website, South Carolina Reptiles and Amphibians , averages approximately 3,000 accesses per day.

ECOLOGY/ENVIRONMENT I. MACRO STATEMENT RECOGNIZE THE ENVIRONMENT AS A SYSTEM OF INTERDEPENDENT COMPONENTS AFFECTED BY HUMAN ACTIVITY AND NATURAL PHENOMENA.
II. KNOWLEDGE STATEMENTS A STUDENT SHOULD KNOW THAT: A. PERSONAL AND SOCIETAL ACTIVITIES IMPACT THE ENVIRONMENT.
  • Natural systems are affected by human activity. Human activities cause lasting effects in the environment upon which all life depends. Some human activities have led to extinction of numerous species of plants and animals, primarily through habitat destruction.
  • B. HUMAN PRACTICE AFFECTS THE USE AND MANAGEMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.
  • Through increased awareness of ecological interactions, humans have attempted to prevent continued disruption of the environment and to counteract the results of many of their past negative practices.
  • C. INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS MAY HAVE DIFFERING POINTS OF VIEW ON ENVIRONMENTAL

    Ecology/Environment
The Ecology flag was, obviously, based upon the US flag in design, hence the stripes and corner field. Many other flags, though, use corner fields, and the planet has generally overlooked the political connection - particularly since the ecology/environment movement is more associated with Britain and France nowadays. The absurdity of having this flag in nylon and NOT cotton is obvious; our manufacturer cites unavailability of cloth for seaming it like our US Peace Flag , and we are further hampered by the preference of everyone for nylon flags. We can't justify the quantity required to special-order the cloth until someone orders a nice bulk of them. Any takers are welcome to contact us. FLAG DAYS: April 22

San Diego State University Department of Biology Fish Ecology Lab Faculty and Staff Graduate Students Projects and Publications The general focus of our research group is to understand the biology and ecology of marine organisms, particularly coastal marine fishes. We work in a variety of ecosystems, including temperate and tropical reefs, bays and estuaries, and rocky intertidal zones. Our interests include the processes and mechanisms that drive the demography of populations and the structure of fish assemblages. Often we direct our studies towards the early life history stages of fishes, especially concerning recruitment success (input of young) to demersal habitats.
