We all had a great time, interacting with the students and fielding all kinds of excellent questions. After the event, the staff and students were gracious in providing a wonderful reception where we all got a chance to mingle. The next week, McMaster Hospital held their OT/PT clinic hosted by Dr. Jean Wessel. Again, CAPS members participated in this event. While Bill Nixon met with various small groups and discussed many topics with the students, I took part in gait analysis and walked over a very special pressure plate that measured force in many different planes, translating this information into graphical data on computer terminals. Terrifically interesting and informative for us all! Thanks to McMaster for including us in their programs!

A life story of a diabetic amputee. How and why diabetic foot problems developed and eventual amputation. How I could prevent diabetic amputation.
http://www.geocities.com/aapeal
Amputation  in Diabetes. Well, If you think it could not happen to you, think again and read my story.
I have been diabetic for over 11 years. I have never thought and imagined how
diabetics could lose the leg. As long as I take good care of myself and see the doctor
regularly how I could possibly get into the situation I am at now?
How Did It Happen to Me?
Some time ago, I developed feelings of tingling, burning, numbing and needlesensations in my feet. Doctors told me "It's your diabetes!". I asked what I should do about it. "Well, be careful" my doctor told me. Is it OK to wear these shoes? Is it OK with a calluse at the bottom of my feet? What about my toenails? I never got straight answers and no one seemed to know or have clear knowledge until I developed a blister from a new pair of shoes I bought and wore for several hours. The blister gave me so much trouble for almost two years. Exactly two years since I developed a small blister, my leg was amputated. Can you believe a little blister cost me my leg?
Educate Yourself If You Are Diabetic
I have found many educational resources on the web since my mishap. Could I have prevented amputation? I think so. When I had developed foot ulcer from the blister, why my doctor never bother to check the bone under the ulcer was infected? When I got a second opinion the second doctor's first concern was a bone infection. When he ordered MRI of my foot then they finally realized my bones were mangled from infection which had to be present several months. Why my doctor never bother to refer me to a foot specialist?

My dear Friends! Hello everybody!
I do feel that it`s high time to change the text, although every time I do it with great regret. It`s all not just the words for me. My every letter and my every sentence means a woman, personality, a human being, FRANTANA and of course Tatiana Myasnikova. Every time, thinking over the text, I wish you would get to know me better and understand how and for what I`m doing such a job, which seems to be very simple and easy by sight, but rather difficult for me, though necessary for men and women. My American friend and client, when I was a guest at his home, used to ask me to run a restaurant business in America with such delicious, healthy and home-made dishes, which he happened to try every day after his work, and I used to answer him that if I lived in America I would collect enough money and would certainly do it. You see in order to cook a delicious food, that one who does it, should put a small part of his heart and soul into it. And the richest and finest is the soul, more aromatic and diviner will be the food done.
"What shall I do with FRANTANA?"

I don't want to arouse your pity, but to ask you to sympathize, and to think over your steps towards these women. These are amazing, strong, and tender ladies.
