The Amputee Connection, a division of the Amputee Information Exchange, Inc., is a volunteer organization which provides peer support to persons who have had an extremity amputated, are otherwise "limb deficient," or are about to undergo amputation surgery, as well as their families and significant others
  • By calling on recent amputees, as well as those facing surgery, who request visits. You will find our visitors to be understanding and ready to help. Above all, they are good listeners who, through their own experience, have found the answers to many of the question you may be asking. By providing a forum in which members can encourage each other, share feelings and experiences, and demonstrate that there is a productive life after amputation. By offering educational programs for amputees, their families and significant others, those who provide services to amputees, and the public in general.     The Canadian Amputee Hockey Committee (CAHC), have begun to finalize our plans and efforts to organize another great season for the Canadian Amputee Hockey Team: Our committee was formed in March 2001. The Canadian Amputee Hockey Players created this committee for the purpose of furthering the growth of this exciting new discipline of ice hockey at all levels in Canada, and abroad. Also, we hope to possibly help in the quest of meeting criteria necessary for getting this sport into the Paralympics curriculum. We the members of the CAHC, worked countless hours to bring our involvement to where we are today, keeping alive this opportunity for Canadian amputees to play hockey at either recreational or competitive levels. As of today, each of the CAHC committee members have all offered to continue in their current duties for up to or one more season

    Who Is the ASA?
    The A.S.A. is a group of concerned citizens who have experienced amputation, their significant others and health care providers. The group meets to share experiences, to provide emotional support, educational programs, social and recreational activities. These ASA sessions provide an opportunity for sharing mutual problems and solutions as well as expressing feelings.
