Dementia is the loss of mental abilities and most commonly occurs late in life. Of all persons over age 65, 5-8% are demented. This percentage increases considerably with age. Twenty-five to 50% of people over 85 are affected (Table1).
    Prevalence of Dementia

    The most common form of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, accounts for 50-75% of all cases of dementia. Another 20-30% is due to blood vessel disease ("multi-infarct dementia" or "mini-strokes"). The remaining cases result from a variety of less common disorders.

* Policeman strangled with chains, then eaten
* Policeman eaten
* Male jumps from castle roof
* Male falls from castle roof REVIEWED BY DREW BOURDET
This movie really isn’t what I expected it to be. I rented this because a friend of a friend thought I would like it, and boy did I ever! When I was reading the back of the movie case, I had mixed feelings. Its not often you see a good B’ horror movie, especially in the 90’s. This movie even won the Fangoria Golden Chainsaw Award, now that’s big stuff for a horror movie.
The movie opens in a seven hundred year old castle, an old woman is preparing a meal, but its not for her. We follow the old woman to a dungeon type of place. She opens the door and starts beating our castle freak violently with a chain whip. Later, this old woman, who we discover was a duchess, dies of natural causes and her last living relative (or so its said) inherits the castle. He starts hearing strange noises, his daughter too.
He is told that the house is haunted by the murdered child of the duchess (the Freak) whom was killed in a fit of revenge for the betrail of her husband. The man decides to sell all the possessions in the house. Walking around writing lists and making inventory of every piece of furniture, he stumbles upon a photo of a young five-year old child of the duchess (the Freak). The child looks exactly like his child that he lost in a car wreck that left him guilty and his daughter blind. Attention was not given to his daughter; she walks around the castle following a cat. The cat has led her to the cell that we saw at the beginning. She hears chains, the cat enters a small entrance for food, which results in the cat being eaten bye our freak.

Christian Zionism And Messianic Judaism By James B. Jordan One of the most grotesque aspects of the sociology of modern American protestantism is the phenomenon of Christian Zionism. While related to the theology of Dispensationalism , Christian Zionism is actually something altogether different theologically. The purpose of this essay is to explore this movement, and in particular to point out its grievously heretical theoretical basis. To facilitate discussion, we shall interact with the expressed beliefs of a Christian Zionist, Jerry Falwell . We close with a brief note on Messianic Judaism. But then, that brings us to the issue: Are Bible-believing Christians supposed to support a Jewish State, for theological reasons? Such is the assertion of Jerry Falwell, and of the heresy of Christian Zionism. Let us turn to this doctrine. Orthodox Dispensationalism versus Christian Zionism Jerry Falwell and Christian Zionism Most of what I have written regarding Christian Zionism above applies to this group of Messianic Jews. I should like, however, to call attention to another facet of the matter. These Messianic Jews believe wrongly that Gentile Christianity (the historic church) departed from Biblical forms in the early days of the church. They see as their mission a restoration of these customs, which they believe they have pre-served.

Darryl Wieland, Ph.D.
Most of us have had times when we forgot the name of someone close to us or misplaced our car keys or even our car. So how do we know when we or someone we love is developing dementia? Q. What is dementia? A. Dementia is a condition of declining mental abilities, especially memory. The person will have problems doing things he or she used to be able to do, like keep the check book, drive a car safely, or plan a meal. He or she will often have problems finding the right words and may become confused when given too many things to do at once. The person with dementia may also change in personality, becoming aggressive, paranoid, or depressed. Q. Isn't dementia just old age or senility? A. As we get older, it takes us longer to remember things or to find the right word to say. But this is NOT dementia. Dementia keeps us from doing the things we used to do because of the mental changes. Although dementia is more common in old age, it is not "normal" and should be evaluated. Aging alone does not interfere with our abilities to function. Q. What causes dementia?
