Story #1
Mt. Tipton On-line; The Internet Arrives
The internet is composed of over 60 million computers linked together around the world, primarily by telephone lines. The individual computers connected to the internet are called "servers" because they serve many small, individual computers called "clients." Servers contain a lot of information. When a person who has a computer connects to the internet, he uses a modem to call a server connected to the internet. The server then contacts the other servers. The person "client" can access information on any server connected to the internet. Mt. Tipton Ventures asked people what they thought of the internet coming to Mt. Tipton School. Here are some responses. When asked if the internet could be helpful, Ms. Wentland said, "Yes, definitely. I'll use it mainly for paper work. I'll do anything to get money for the school."

Home and Folk Remedies
I have personally used all of these remedies, and they have usually helped me even if they did not entirely solve my problem. I have always found these remedies to be useful, mild and largely side-effect free. You should be aware that I cannot guarantee that you will have the same results. I have never had an adverse reaction to any of these remedies, but that does not guarantee that you will not. Adverse effects are unpredictable, and you may have or develop an allergy to something in one of these remedies. You may notice that I do not give dosage instructions. This is because the proper dose will vary from individual to individual. Taking too much of anything is dangerous, and one must be especially careful with all medicines (herbs are mdicines too). Use good judgement in using these remedies. Remember: None of this information is intended as a substitute for a doctor or other qualified health practicioner's advice.
Allergies:
Drink mint tea (peppermint or wintergreen – not spearmint). This should help relieve sinus pressure/discharge.
If the allergy manifests as a rash or swelling, bathe the area in mint tea or Witch Hazel extract (avoid the eyes and other sensitive areas). If this doesn’t work, try bathing the area in a basil and water infusion (steep dried basil in warm water until the water has cooled). If any of these rinses burns or becomes too uncomfortable, rinse in clear water. Aloe Vera is a good treatment – cover the area with aloe and gently rub in or let it absorb. For itchy rashes, soaking in a tub of warm water with baking soda can help. For wet or weeping rashes, cover the area in honey and cover with bandages. Rinse after two hours. Aloe Vera is a good treatment – cover the area with aloe and gently rub in or let it absorb.

A rare but fatal condition involving the brain and liver. Its cause is unknown, but studies have linked it to the use of aspirin during a viral infection. Over the years, david castle has composed many symphonic works as well as conducted many of the world's finest musicians including the London Royal Philharmonic, members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and many talented studio musicians. The following are various occasions when david has conducted his compositions for orchestra. Pictured above, david castle conducts his "Adagio For Jaime," a symphonic work that david composed in memory of Jaime Beth Slavin, a bright, young teenager who died of Reyes Syndrome. Her family members are friends of david's. As a result of Jaime Beth Slavin's life experience the national Reyes Syndrome Foundation was created. Jill Slavin, golf pro coach and loving mother of Jaime Beth, organized Celebrity Golf Tournaments and raised donations to find the cure for Reyes Syndrome. Harvey Korman, Maclean Stevenson and Buddy Hackett were just a few of the lengendary celebrities that performed unselfishly to help the Reyes Syndrome Foundation. Jill Slavin's hard work and dedication to this cause brought about great strides forward in the defeat of this disease. Tragically, she died of a car accident some years later. "Adagio For Jaime" became the "theme song" for the Reyes Syndrome Foundation and the performances pictured above were some of those from the Celebrity Golf Tournaments in Calabasas, California, USA.

Marybeth Davis Story
In 1981 Marybeth Davis gave birth to Seth Davis. From birth, Seth displayed symptoms of liver dysfunction and a possible metabolic or genetic problem. He had two high bilirubins, feeding problems, lethargy, etc.. Marybeth was a nurse and her husband, Gary was an osteopathic student but neither wanted to think that there could be anything wrong with their beautiful son. Seth was under the care of a pediatrician, who, along with the parents, agreed that, if Seth didn't get any better he would be evaluated by a specialist.
eventually separated and Marybeth was raising the two children alone. In 1996, the case was reopened as a "cold" or unsolved case, with the state representing that the original investigation was lost. Knowing the above, the state of WV put Marybeth on trial for her life. The medical evidence presented at trial was overwhelming that she was innocent but she was labeled with Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy and all the "soap opera" testimony that goes along with it. She was convicted and given a life sentence with no mercy. After the trial, a state witness relinquished hundreds of pages of documents (the "lost" investigation), tissue slides which she had been specifically asked for but did not hand over prior to trial and the WV MEO handed over the spectrograph which proves the original toxicology report was correct and that Tegan could not have died of caffeine poisoning. At trial, although

Reyes Syndrome in Children

Reyes syndrome, the causes are not fully understood
but it may be triggered in children who are given 'Aspirin' to bring down their fever, while suffering a viral illness.
The UK Gov had already banned the giving of Aspirin products to any child under 12 years old, has now hardened that advice to include all children of 16 years and under.
*I cannot find the latest UK Gov warning, but "Reyes Syndrome" will find similar on the Web.*

PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE
Although a. Medical Examiner is commonly associated with death, the Rockland County Medical Examiner's Office has distinguished itself by its tireless efforts and contributions in the field of preventative medicine. Illustrative of this dedication are the following contributions which have made a significant impact on the preservation of life: CONFINED SPACE HYPOXIA SYNDROME
The sudden death of two meter readers in an underground facility led to the elaboration of an insidious danger that can cause almost sudden death to individuals who frequent certain confined spaces. This condition was identified and named by the Medical Examiner's Office as " Confined Space Hypoxia Syndrome ", and a prevention protocol for workers was developed. This syndrome was subsequently published in the Journal of Forensic Sciences with definitive procedures to protect workers and other individuals who must enter such spaces.
