Symptoms typically appear before the age of 18 and the condition occurs in all ethnic groups with males affected 3 to 4 times more often than females. Associated conditions can include obsessivity, attentional problems, and impulsiveness. Since many people with TS have yet to be diagnosed, there are no absolute figures, but the official estimate by the National Institutes of Health is that 100,000 Americans have full-blown TS. Symptoms include: * Multiple motor and one or more vocal tics at some time during the illness, although not necessarily simultaneously

WELCOME!!!!
To The Tourette Syndrome Page belonging to
*Pocahontas 8 Feathers*
Keepin' Count!!!
Hello, let me introduce myself. My name is Catherine Ann Lambe-Swanson, I am 39 years old, and hail originally from Tonawanda, NY. At the age of 2 months I was given up for adoption, and until 10May87, I had no idea who I was. On that day, I found my natural mother, and thus found "myself"! Thank You Mom! I have been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, on 04May1998. I inherited it from my natural father. I also have Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder and Chronic Depression (aka Dysthymic Disorder). My youngest son Dennis has Tourette Syndrome His Tourette was also inherited, from myself and his father. Currently, I make my home in Titusville, FL and am trying to get a new TSA chapter up and running here in Central FL, in addition to the international TouretteSupportGroup I run on the internet every Sunday night.
The reason I am doing this page is in the hopes that people will come and get information that the public and private sectors both are so reluctant to offer people with Tourette+. This page will be subject to constant revision as my trek through the Internet yields more and more information. Happy Browsing! Please sign my guestbook at the bottom of the page here and give me some feedback! Or Email me.
