Basov, Nicolay Gennadiyevich Nikolay Gennadiyevich Basov est né le 14 décembre 1922 dans la petite ville d'Usman près de Voronezh, le fils de Gennady Fedorovich Basov et Zinaida Andreevna Molchanova. Son père était un professeur de l'Institut de Forêt de Voronezh et a consacré sa vie à l'enquête de l'influence de ceintures de forêt sur des eaux souterraines et sur le drainage superficiel.
Après la fin du collège d'enseignement général en 1941 à Voronezh Basov a été appelé pour le service militaire et adressé(dirigé) à l'Académie Médicale Militaire Kuibyshev. En 1943 il a laissé(quitté) l'Académie avec la qualification de l'aide d'un docteur militaire. Il a servi dans l'Armée Soviétique et a participé à la Deuxième Guerre mondiale au secteur ofthe le Front D'abord Ukrainien. En décembre 1945, il a été démobilisé et est entré à l'Institut de Moscou d'Ingénieurs Physiques où il a étudié la physique théorique et expérimentale.
De 1950 à 1953 il était un étudiant d'étudiant de troisième cycle de l'Institut de Moscou d'Ingénieurs Physiques. Ce temps-là, Basov travaillait sur sa thèse au P.N. Lebedev Institut Physique de l'Académie de Sciences, l'URSS, sous les conseils de Professeur M.A. Leontovich et Professeur du matin. Prochorov.

Emergence of Modern Science The Discovery of the Electron V.B.Kamble A s early as about 1830, electrical discharges in gases were intriguing a number of experimental physicists in Europe. In 1881, at the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, J.J.Thomson began experimenting with gaseous discharges, and continued to do so for the next 50 years. When Thomson started his research, cathode rays had already been known for about 50 years, but their nature was controversial. As Thomson later wrote in the paper reporting his discovery of the electron, "The most diverse opinions are held as to these rays; according to the almost unanimous opinion of German physicists they are due to some process in the ether to which. no phenomenon hitherto observed is analogous; another view of these rays is that, so far from being wholly ethereal, they are in fact wholly material, and that they mark the paths of particles of matter charged with negative electricity." J.J. Thomson

MURRAY GELL-MANN for his contributions and discoveries concerning the classification of elementary particles and their interactions. LUIS W. ALVAREZ for his decisive contributions to elementary particle physics, in particular the discovery of a large number of resonance states, made possible through his development of the technique of using hydrogen bubble chamber and data analysis. American scientist born in San Francisco and educated at the University of Chicago, who won the 1968 Nobel Prize in physics for developing the liquid hydrogen bubble-chamber, with which he found atomic particles produced by high-energy nuclear events. He also developed the proton linear accelerator known as LINEAC. Alvarez had wide-ranging interests in science. In 1981 he and his son Walter, after studying geological strata, published a controversial theory that a giant meteorite striking the earth had caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. HANS ALBRECHT BETHE for his contributions to the theory of nuclear reactions, especially his discoveries concerning the energy production in stars. ALFRED KASTLER for the discovery and development of optical methods for studying hertzian resonances in atoms.
