Johannes Vilhelm Jensen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Johannes V. Jensen (1873-1950), Danish author. Awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1944. Born 20th of January, 1873 in a village in North Jutland, Denmark . He died 1950. Johannes V. Jensen's literary career began near the turn of the century with the publication of Himmerland Stories , (1898-1910) comprising a series of tales set in that part of Denmark where he was born. He also wrote poetry, a few plays, and many essays, chiefly on anthropology and the philosophy of evolution. He developed his theories of evolution in a cycle of six novels Den lange rejse The Long Journey which was published in a two-volume edition in 1938.

E scritor danés y premio Nobel, nacido en Farso, Jutlandia. Estudió en la Universidad de Copenhage. Sus obras destacan por retratar a la gente común de un modo profundamente comprensivo y afectuoso. La primera de sus creaciones que obtuvo un cierto reconocimiento fue Historias de Himmerland (1898-1910), una recopilación de cuentos populares sobre las gentes de su provincia natal. A Jensen le interesaba profundamente la teoría de la evolución, por lo que no es extraño que su obra más conocida sea una serie de seis novelas (1909-1920) en las cuales exponía su punto de vista acerca del desarrollo de la humanidad desde el estado salvaje hasta su actual condición. Estas novelas se reunieron en el año 1938 en dos volúmenes publicados bajo el título El largo viaje (1922-1924). En total, la obra del autor, por la que fue galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1944, ocupa 60 tomos, en los que se entremezclan novelas, poemas y obras de teatro. © eMe Textos:
