Fenn (EUA), Koichi Tanaka (Japão), e Kurt Wüthrich (Suíça), pela sua contribuição para o desenvolvimento da espectrometria de massa e ressonância magnética nuclear, métodos que permitem identificar e analisar macromoléculas biológicas, como as proteínas.
