67. Niss Kirstin: Trad
assembled an impressive cast of musicians to create an ambitious and beautiful songcycle based on the poetry of nobel Prize winning writer harry martinson.
http://www.rootsworld.com/reviews/kerstin.html
Niss Kerstin
Amigo (www.amigo.se)
"Askarna" Kerstin's slightly thin, very humane voicing of these pieces is perfect. She can be just a wisp of vocal, seeming to be almost at the breaking point, but then the next moment she can shout to the wind and bend to the forces of nature. the production by Karl Seglem is organic and flowing, offering the musicians ample room to create mood and space. An excellent interpretation of poetry into music is always difficult. This group of artists have found a musical as well as textual approach to bring Martinson's poetry to the ear. - CF Trad is available from cdRoots See also: Sweden

handgriplig, handfast, handfallen, släpphänt, handtag, handledare, handsekreterare,
avhandling, handikapp, handarbete, hands on, hands out, hands up....

AUTHORS ON THE WEB
A Collection of Biographical Sketches
This page is an attempt to bring together literary author biographies available on the World Wide Web. The biographies vary in quality, timeliness, length, and authority. If you don't find a biography here and know of one, please send it along. If there is no biography available, write one and send it along. It will take time for this page to become one of substance. And, in keeping with the beauty of the medium, it will continually grow and change. Credit for this page must go to Dr. Gretchen Whitney at The University of Tennessee where I was a graduate student in the School of Information Science . Dr. Whitney's "dead German" assignment gave me inspiration for this page. She also taught me HTML. She may have created a monster. Last revised: August 17, 2002. As a new dimension to this page, I am attempting to locate biographies on Nobel Prize winners in Literature. Those I include will include a notation, (Nobel, year). Much of the information for this portion comes from The Nobel Prize Internet Archive
