thesis: Aspects of spin-charge separation in high Tc cuprates
The first chapter provides a (somewhat biased) overview of the high Tc physics, and gives the motivation for the recent paper "Theory of Spin Excitations in Undoped and Underdoped Cuprates". I found some minor errors. An erratum is in preparation. [One substantial error is that the derivation of the Jacobian schetched by Equation (3.28) of the thesis is not quite right, though the final result (3.29) is correct, and all the results remain unchanged. (A correct derivation is given in the paper "Theory of spin excitations in undoped and underdoped cuprates".)]
papers
Don H. Kim and Patrick A. Lee, " Theory of spin excitations in undoped and underdoped cuprates ", Annals of Physics 272, p130 (1999). [We wrote the paper to argue that the "Flux" type phases (in which singlet amplitudes are already formed in the normal state) are a reasonable description of underdoped cuprates and that they are not too far from the Neel ordered state, and could be easily stablized by the introduction of holes.] Don H. Kim, Patrick A. Lee, and Xiao-Gang Wen, "
