Due to his uncommon ability and determination, he succeeded in popularizing the instrument among classical music circles, despite general distaste for the accordion by composers and classical music lovers. Ellegaard described his introduction to the new accordion: "When I started, there was absolutely no accordion culture. Transport Fuglsang Musikforening Koncerter Interessante Links Årsberetning den 5. maj 2002 Igen, i samme rytme som de andre år, og dog helt anderledes, er et musikår gået for Musikforeningen, dens medlemmer og tilhørere. Ni koncerter er mange og åbner mulighed for et meget alsidigt repertoire. Vi startede denne sæson med en ren klaverkoncert. Vi havde store forventninger til den helt unge pianist Christina Bjørkøe; hun indfriede dem alle i rigt mål. Hendes spil var på en gang kompromisløst, meget enkelt, aldrig påtaget, og hendes virtuositet, som er stor, holder hun i baggrunden. Dramatisk og drømmende spillede hun Liszt, energisk og uendeligt øm blev hendes fortolkning af Niels Viggo Bentzon, legende og let var hendes Schubert. Den længe ventede multikunstner Thomas Sandberg kom i september. Da han stod for vores heldags-arrangement, startede han om formiddagen med et meget oplysende og fornøjeligt foredrag om sit arbejde og en præsentation af sine mange og meget forskellige slagtøjsinstrumenter, som spænder lige fra trommer til Madam Blå. Vi var alt for få til at overvære hans opsigtsvækkende, til tider foruroligende, til tider forførende intense optræden i grænselandet mellem musik og mime. En anderledes og værdifuld dag. Oktober bød på en dejlig koncert med Storstrøms Kammerensemble. Jakob Westh brillerede i det romantiske og storslåede klaverparti i Dohnanyi’s sektet i c-dur. Kammerensemblet, som har givet en særlig plads til fransk impressionist musik i sit repertoire, har en fin forståelse for dets særlige klangunivers. Vi nød Jean Francaix, Jacques Ibert og harpens klang.
