Juhani Lipsanen's first objects of collecting were antique weapons and peasant utensils. 12 January 2003 Ralph Gothony Finland Ralph Gothoni (born in Finland) began his studies on the violin at age three and on piano at age five. At 15 he debuted as an orchestra soloist and in 1967, he appeared at the Jyväskyla Summer Festival as the "debutant of the year". In the thirty-three years since, he had enjoyed a many-sided career as solo pianist, chamber musician and conductor all over the world. His performances include appearances at prestigious music festivals-Salzburg, Berlin, Prague, Aldeburgh, Edinburgh, La Roque de Antheron, Ravinia, Tanglewood and more- and performances with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony, the Japan Philharmonic, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Chicago, Detroit, and Toronto Symphony Orchestras, among others. Mr. Gothoni has recorded some 80 albums for several labels, including BIS, Decea, DGG, EMI and Ondine, with whom he has produced more than twenty CD's in recent years. One of them is Benjamin Britten's Piano Concerto, which includes the composer's original third movement. His latest recording is piano concerto (Choros XI) by Villa Lobos together with Sakarr Oramo and the Finnish Radio Orchestra. Sie war nebenbei in den letzten Jahren ein gern gesehener Gast an den Opernhäusern in Köln, Kassel, Bremen, Kiel und Lübeck. Seit dem Sommer 2001 ist sie fest an der Oper in Bremen engagiert und stand dort u.a. in der vielbeachteten Uraufführung "Noach", als Dorabella in "Così fan tutte" und als Polina in "Pique Dame" auf der Bühne.
