David Glen Hatch Piano studies began locally at an early age advancing to studios of nationally acclaimed teachers including Joanne Baker, Paul Pollei, and Robert Smith. He has also worked with and performed in master classes of international artist/teachers including Leon Fleisher, Ylda Novik, Nelita True, Karl Schnable, Adele Marcus, Charles Rosen, Gilbert Kalish, Ruth Laredo, and Eugene List. David Glen Hatch received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree Cum Laude from the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri-Kansas City. While there, Dr. Hatch was the recipient of the Outstanding Doctoral Student Award, the Outstanding Graduate Pianist Award, and the Superior Teaching Award. Through the merits of his accomplished teaching, performing and recording careers, Dr. Hatch was selected one of the outstanding Young Men of America and later nominated by six United States Senators as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of America in 1984. A former competitor, Hatch has won and received awards in several prestigious piano competitions at both State and Regional levels, in addition to being twice-selected a Semi-Finalist in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, and as a National Finalist in the William C. Byrd Piano competition. In addition to his local classes, Dr. Hatch has also taught master classes in Europe, Russia, Japan, China and the United States and has served as adjudicator, lecturer, and clinician for universities, local and state music organizations, piano competitions, music festivals, and state music conventions.

David Glen Hatch, Composer Page Considered one of America’s fine piano virtuosos, David Glen Hatch is recognized as a distinguished concert and recording artist and teacher locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.  He appears regularly in concert and as a soloist with chamber and symphony orchestras. Additionally, Hatch has been a frequent adjudicator, lecturer, and clinician for various local and state music organizations, piano competitions, festivals and state music conventions. Hatch, a distinguished pianist, arranger, instructor and recording artist, will perform traditional Christmas music as well as some of his arrangements from his three volume CD series, "My Romantic Favorites." Joining Hatch will be the Valley Chamber Orchestra, a group of professional musicians. Marden Pond, musical director of the Nachtmusik Orchestra, will conduct the orchestra during the Christmas numbers. Think for a moment how different it would be if we did not have music in our life. Music is with us everywhere. It's in everything. We are surrounded by music throughout our lives. For instance, can you remember the last time you heard the music of chirping crickets or croaking frogs, singing birds, a mother's lullaby? And even the very sound and the very rhythm of nature is music. We also hear music on radio and television and in elevators, grocery stores, movies. airports, dental and medical offices and concerts and just about everywhere. One poet wrote, "For the things that are common in every day, God gave man speech in a common way. But for tile deepel' things men think and feel, God gave the past words to reveal and for the heights and depths that know no reach, God gave man music, the soul's own speech." (Presentation) Thank you so much, thank you. So, you like Chopin. Yeah, did any of you know that's who that was'? Beethoven stated it clearly: "Music's author is God and not man. He laid the key note of all harmonies, He planned all perfect combinations and He made us so that we could hear and understand." So, if music is from God, it is my opinion that it should be of divine interest for us all.
