Faculty MACK McCRAY - piano Mack McCray received his B.M. and M.S. from The Juilliard School, where he studied under Irwin Freundich. He won the silver medal in the International Georges Enesco Competition, first prize in the Charleston Symphony and San Francico Symphony young artists competition, Juilliard's Edward Steuermann Memorial Prize, and a grant from the Martha Baird Rockefeller Foundation-all in one season(1969-1970). He has been an invited guest artist at the Festival d'Automne in Paris, Seville's Great Interpreters Cycle, the UNESCO Festival of International Artists at Monte Carlo, the Bucharest Philharmonic's Bach/Beethoven/Brahms Festival, and the Hong Kong Symphony. He has performed under such conductors as Michael Tilson Thomas, Josef Krips, and Leon Fleisher. He has been on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music since 1971. CHOONG-MO KANG - piano He has appeared throughout the USA. Japan and Korea as a soloist and recitalist. Among his many Awards are first prizes at the Pacific International Piano Competition, the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition and the Louise D. McMahon International Music competition. His recordings include some of Haydn piano sonatas and Mozart piano sonatas. He also made a recording of RachmaninoffOs four hands music with his wife Hae-Jeon Lee, Rachmaninoff's third piano concerto with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and the Rhapsody on the theme of Paganini with the Czech National Philharmonic Orchestra. He tought at Peabody Institute of Music, and currently he is a faculty member at the Korean National Institute of Arts.
