Musical Achievements Adler began to study piano at the age of six. Instructed by his mother, he won three piano competitions in the Hong Kong Music Festival. Under the meticulous tutelage of Mr. Kwok K. Koo since 1999, Adler's knowledge of music and repertoire broadened.

Adler was invited by South Valley Symphony during February 2002 to play Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37. In August 2002, Adler performed all three movements of Grieg's Piano Concerto with the Palo Alto Philharmonic Orchestra. He will be engaged again to perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E Flat Major (Emperor) with South Valley Symphony in February of 2003.
Adler Ma is the president of the Appreciating Classical Music Society (commonly called APC Music Society or APCMS) which he founded to encourage others to appreciate and enjoy classical music. Visit the society's website at www.apcmusic.homestead.com .

Richard Adler has long enjoyed the reputation of one of America’s top Broadway composers. He was awarded two Tony Awards and was Consultant for the Arts to Presidents John F Kennedy and Lyndon B Johnson. Adler was the son of Clarence Adler, who was well-known for his broadcast performances of Mozart concertos and for teaching such musicians as Richard Rodgers and Aaron Copland. In one of the most celebrated collaborations in Broadway history, Richard Adler and Jerry Bock composed the music and lyrics for The Pajama Game and Damn Yankees, both winners of the Tony, Donaldson and Variety Critics Awards. After Jerry Ross’s death Adler continued composing works such as Kwamina . He also composed for film and television.
Born in 1926 to Russian immigrant parents, Jerry Ross began writing songs in his teens, although he had no musical training. After several well-received songs, some in collaboration with Buddy Kaye and others, Ross met Adler and they decided to team up. Hernando’s Hideaway and Hey There , songs from The Pajama Game

Bookings 44 (0)20 7439 0747 December tour with pianist Ethan Iverson culminates in new recording deal Martin and Ethan finished off their tour with the recording of a new duo album to be released in the Spring on Basho records. Martin met pianist Ethan Iverson at Banff Centre for the Arts in 1990 where they both studied for a month with Steve Coleman, Kenny Wheeler, Rufus Reid, Kevin Eubanks, Stanley Cowell and others. They did not see each other again for more than ten years. Martin wondered what had happened to Ethan and found he had become the musical director of the Mark Morris Dance Company. This company visited England in 2001 and they got a chance to renew their musical friendship by playing through a few interesting standards and originals. They hit it off musically despite being very different in their approach and decided to tour together in December. Martin is known for the diversity of his projects and his interests in many areas of jazz music. This is reflected in a duo with guitarist Colin Oxley, The Unison Quartet which performs Indian and Arabic influenced music, The International Quartet with Paul Motian, Bobo Stenson and Mick Hutton, Exploring Standards with Tom Skinner and Mick Hutton and free improvisation with drummer Mark Sanders. He recently recorded for ECM.
