Much Music Interview
Sook-Yin Lee - Today we are talking with Chantal Kreviazuk, she has put out her first album titled "Under These Rocks and Stones". Hi Chantal. Chantal - Hi, how are you? Sook-Yin Lee - Good, and yourself? Chantal - Very well, thank you. Sook-Yin Lee - Very good, now to fill in some information as to your background, um, you are a classically trained pianist, started playing at the age of three, and of the legend that I know of you thus far it sounds like you have encountered or you were in a car accident about four years ago and that was a catalyst to you writing your own material. Chantal - Yeah, I think I was an adolescent hiding behind courses in school, not knowing which direction I was going in, and just feeling really insecure about the future and feeling safe at school, as long as I was at school I was productive, and then I got into an accident in August of '94 while I was traveling in Europe and I was devastated because, Oh my gosh I can't go back to school. Sook-Yin Lee - Was it a very severe accident?

While it left much to be desired as a movie, one of the main pleasures to be had from A MAN CALLED HERO was the inclusion of Yuen Biao in a supporting role. While Jackie Chan achieved new heights of stardom in the late 90s, Ah Biao found himself cast in pictures more and more unworthy of his talents. Sammo Hung squandering his talents in the abysmal MARTIAL LAW series was depressing enough but one can only wonder how "third brother" must have felt stuck in swill like TOUGH BEAUTY AND THE SLOPPY SLOP and THE HAUNTED HUNTER. Unfortunately, MILLENNIUM DRAGON continues this sad pattern, thanks to a ludicrous storyline, poor production, and the consistently deadly hand of former kung fu star turned hack director, Phillip Ko Fei (who also has a supporting role here).
