Part X, Suggestions from Tartastan, Russia This young pianist was suggested by an outstanding pianist, which I inserted same time in these pages: Evgeni Mikhailov . (In the chapter of "Older" Prodigies of course.)
    Arseni Maikov
Piano The young Pianist Arseni Maikov was born November 8, 1986 in the city of Kazan, Tatarstan (Russia). Since 1992 he is a pupil of O. Lemeshko in Kazan Special Music School for gifted children. In the years 1993-1998 he studyed in class of M. Sukharenko, and since 1998 in the class of Prof. E. Bournasheva. Now Arseni is 6-years pupil of Special Music School. Arseni has played his first concert when he was 5 years old (Concerto D-dur for piano and orchestra by I. Berkovich). After this performance Arseni played many successful recitals and also concerts of chamber music in some sities of Russia. In 1999 he became the winner (1-st Prize) of the II J.S.Bach regional Piano Competition in Kazan .
Arseni like animals very much. His dream is, first of all, a good concert grandpiano, of course. But then he would like to have a constant friend - a little dog. Arseni would like to go in summer at sea - for good rest before next school-year.
