My name is Amy Jiaqi Yang and I am an eighteen-year-old Chinese pianist. I was born into a family of musicians in Shenyang, China; my mother is a soprano, father, a composer, and late grandfather, a conductor. My father took part as being my very first piano teacher. Later, I went to study with Ms. Qing Li. But due to various difficulties, all musical lessons were truncated at age eight.
At age eleven, I emigrated to the states and at 13, took up piano lessons again with Mr. Timothy Hester, Assistant Professor of Piano and Director of Keyboard Collaborative Arts at Moore's School of Music, who has kindly given me lessons gratis. Most recently, I was accepted to the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, where I study with Professor Claude Frank.
"Music is my life. It is what I live for, what I love, and we are inseparable.  Through music, I can express feelings that I will never be able to express in words.  It is by music how I communicate to people of all races alike.  To this very day, it has given me unspeakable and immeasurable joy! I feel that I must contribute to the world the talents that I have been privileged to exploit. I must touch people's hearts with music and I must show everyone how miraculous music is and how it can fulfill their lives and make their lives complete, as it did for mine." Personal
Amy Jiaqi Yang's Homepage
A young, gifted Houston-area pianist recounts the challenges, achievements of her life. The breadth of the site's content is impressive an autobiography, audio clips, and photos. Unfortunately, albeit necessarily, in recent months (I'm writing in January of 2003), the site has lost some of its personal touch gone are her musings, her artwork.
Insane Studios
Going for the stark, bare-bones visual approach that has made "ultimatt .html " such a stunning hit (not really) is Joshua Wu in the newest incarnation of his domain name-backed site. Not to say it's derivative, though: note the germane (sometimes vaguely so), er, epigrams (for lack of a better term) that pop up in the top left pane in each page. Occasionally bafflingly eccentric but never trite, these phrases go a long in way in lending a strange aura of deep meaningfulness about the site. And yet these are far from the focus of the site's content; visit the art gallery and give Josh's often intense ink drawings at least a cursory glance. They're well worth your time.
MyStrangeThoughts
From the creator of the now-defunct "Soulvalion's Rest Stop." Free from the distractions of Bryce, Chad Wellington has managed to...generate thoughts. Yes, Chad can think. In his most recent foray into thinking, Chad takes on the Selective Service System. The growing archive of these, uh, thoughts is now facetiously trifurcated in an ostensible tribute to our Constitution. Or maybe he wasn't being facetious after all.
