The students obtain Bachelor of Engineering upon graduation and are prepared for varieties of job opportunities. Postgraduate program comprises of 3 second-level disciplines: hydromechanics, solid mechanics and general mechanics, which all confers master and Ph.D. degree.     First edition of Jordanus' treatise on mechanics De ratione ponderis, the most significant of all medieval statical treatises, accompanied by the first printing of Esperienze fatte da Nicolo Tartalea 1541 a di XIIII Aprile, a series of experiments on specific weights conducted by Niccolo Tartaglia. This is the first experimental tables of specific gravity of materials.
    Some of the diagrams were designed by Tartaglia himself to elucidate the text.
    The De ratione ponderis is in 'four parts containing a total of forty-five theorems with their demonstrations.... The theorems of the earlier work [Liber de ponderibus] which are omitted in this treatise are the two erroneous ones on the bent lever. Replacing them is a new and entirely correct theorem of the bent lever, with an elegant demonstration. The last two theorems of this first book of the De ratione ponderis have no precedent in any of the earlier medieval statical treatises; they give to this work its highest mark of distinction, since they develop, in a wholly correct and mathematically elegant manner, the first valid solution of the problem of the force required to hold a weight in equilibrium on an inclined plane' (Moody and Clagett, The Medieval science of weights).

The motion of bodies of constant and variable mass acted upon by variable forces, including impulsive ones, will be examined. The application of concepts of dynamics to the study of fluid continua will be introduced Stress, strain and elasticity will be introduced and applied, together with the principles of static equilibrium and compatibility, to a range of problems, including the analysis of forces and deflections in statically determinate trusses, and of shear force and bending moment distribution in beams.
