The Letter of Agatho and of the Roman Synod of 125 Bishops Which Was to Serve as an Instruction to the Legates Sent to Attend the Sixth Synod.
The Letter of Agatho and of the Roman Synod of 125 Bishops
Which Was to Serve as an Instruction to the Legates Sent to Attend the Sixth Synod. (Found in Labbe and Cossart, Concilia, Tom. VI., col. 677 et seqq., and in Migne, Pat. Lat. Tom. LXXXVII., col. 1215 et seqq. [This last text, which is Mansi's, I have followed].) To the most pious Lords and most serene victors and conquerors, our own sons beloved of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ, Constantine, the great Emperor, and Heraclius and Tiberius, Augustuses, Agatho, the bishop and servant of the servants of God, together with all the synods subject to the council of the Apostolic See. [The Letter opens with a number of compliments to the Emperor, much in style and matter like the introduction of the preceding letter. I have not thought it worth while to translate this, but have begun at the doctrinal part, which is given to the reader in full. (Labbe and Cossart, col. 682.)] [The letter goes on to say that this is the traditional faith, and is that which was set forth in a council over which Pope Martin presided, and that those opposed to this faith have erred from the truth, some in one way, and some in another. It next apologizes for the delay in sending the persons ordered by the imperial Sacra, and proceeds thus: (Labbe and Cossart, col. 686; Migne, col. 1224).]

95. WHAT IS THE CELTIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH?
ecumenical councils of the undivided christian churchthat church which the NiceneCreed, our confession of faith, calls one, holy, catholic and apostolic.
http://members.aol.com/bishopjoeg/church.html
WHAT IS THE CELTIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH? by Most Rev. Joseph A. Grenier, Ph.D.* We are an independent catholic and orthodox Church, living our faith in the spirit of the ancient Celtic Church. Our faith is that of the first seven ecumenical councils of the undivided Christian Churchthat Church which the Nicene Creed, our confession of faith, calls one, holy, catholic and apostolic. We celebrate the seven sacraments (also called Mysteries) of this Church, and we believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Christians from every denomination are welcome to worship with us. For some the attraction is the sacramental life. For most it is the unity which is found in and through the one faith, as opposed to the unity of structure. Some of those who show interest in the Celtic Church have been alienated from one or another of the Christian Churches. We hope to help such persons renew and deepen their faith in Christ. Some persons have joined us as members, others have not. It is not necessary to give up one's denominational affiliation to participate in our services. However, priests and deacons are expected to be commited to this Church and its bishop. The ancient and beautiful Celtic Christian spirituality embodied in the life of the Celtic Christian Church is drawing people to us from around the country. It can be particularly attractive to people of Celtic heritage. However, we do not set any kind of ethnic limitation, and all who are attracted to the Christian life it offers are welcomed and embraced warmly in the Celtic spirit.

August 12, 2002 Apostolic Constitutions, Book II: On Worship in the Church The following comes from Book II of the Apostolic Constitutions , an ancient compilation of purported apostolic teachings written approximately during the 3rd and 4th centuries. The apostolicity of these writings has never been fully accepted, but historically they have carried much authority within the Church and they give us insight into the life of the early Christians. This excerpt concerns worship in the Church.
LVII. But be thou, O bishop, holy, unblameable, no striker, not soon angry, not cruel; but a builder up, a converter, apt to teach, forbearing of evil, of a gentle mind, meek, long-suffering, ready to exhort, ready to comfort, as a man of God.
