Burlington Danes School
School details - mixed, voluntary aided, Church of England As one of the oldest schools in London, Burlington Danes has a long tradition of excellence in education, yet it is at the forefront of curriculum development. It is a Church of England school which places a high value on care for the individual and the success of each student. All students wear our distinctive uniform giving them a sense of belonging to the school and in addition all students are expected to follow the 'good behaviour code'. At the end of year 11, a high proportion of students progress to the William Morris Academy and other local colleges and from there go on to university. In addition to the full range of national curriculum core subjects, Burlington Danes is able to offer excellent courses in technology, the arts and modern foreign languages. The school's newly refurbished science laboratories provide an excellent learning environment and there is also a fully equipped drama studio and music rooms. At least twice a year the school puts on a performance of music and drama for parents and governors. All students will learn how to use information technology to further their studies. The school has a modern learning resource centre, with access to information on CD ROM, and a well stocked library. Every student is expected to do homework on a daily basis. The school runs homework clubs and examination revision clinics which have proved very popular with students and helped them to gain good grades in GCSE examinations. The sports facilities at Burlington Danes are remarkable for an inner city school and not surprisingly, the school has an excellent record of sporting success. In year 10 all students take part in two weeks work experience and an Industrial Society day to prepare them for the world of work.

Zabreiko In modern times mathematics has become an inseparable part of human culture, in which it plays a fundamental role. Throughout the centuries mathematics has been a crucial tool in the hands of mankind. It has allowed us to understand the fundamental principles of the universe, for example Newton's law of gravity, Einstein's equivalence of mass and energy, Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism, the laws of quantum mechanics for elementary particles, and even the Big Bang theory. The advances in interplanetary exploration and rapid development of computer technology wouldn't have been possible without mathematics.

Dr Rowan Williams is outspoken and controversial
A liberal and often controversial bishop has been chosen as the next Archbishop of Canterbury, religious leader for 70 million Anglicans worldwide. The Archbishop of Wales, Rowan Williams, has been confirmed as the successor to Dr George Carey in the Church of England's top post. Prime Minister Tony Blair chose Dr Williams from a shortlist of two names, put forward by the Church after months of debate. Dr Williams said he approached the job with a sense of awe but hoped to give the Church a renewed confidence in the 21st century. Rising to the challenge: Click for more "If there's one thing I long for above all else, it's that the years to come may see Christianity in this country able again to capture the imagination of our culture, to draw the strongest energies of our thinking and feeling," he said. Paying tribute to his predecessor, he said Dr Carey had provided a "fine model of listening and interpreting", shaping the position as a "ministry of reconciliation and mission".

This website is intended primarily for Church of England parishes considering registering their churches as potential sites for a mobile telecommunications installation under the national scheme. It gives some background to the National Aerials Agreement, why it was felt necessary and how it will work, as well as where more information can be found about mobile telecommunications generally.
The current site is intended as a starting point and will develop over the next weeks and months. By the end of 2007, it is expected that many thousands of new mobile telecommunications base stations (from antenna arrays mounted on masts to small individual aerials) will be needed in the UK to meet government and consumer demands.
This infrastructure could be required to support not only mobile phones but other forms of wireless communication, including those serving emergency, and public services.

Comparative Religion: The Church of England
Most of these basically Lutheran tenets apply to all Protestants. The Calvinist ("puritan") refinements are presented further along. Man's wickedness is so great that no amount of good works could hope to atone for our sin. God, being all good, would not require something of us that is impossible. Therefore, the only thing necessary for salvation is believing in His Name ( "justification by faith" The Church exists to guide but is not necessary for salvation. There is no need for priests to interpret God's will. Supporting the Church, or denying the flesh, does not bring you closer to God. If you are united with Him at all, it is completely and absolutely. The Roman church has corrupted the original doctrines and teachings of Christ and His Apostles for its own purpose, and no longer represents the true faith of Christ. The only source of religious authority is Scripture. The two sacraments are Baptism and Holy Eucharist (Communion). The other so-called sacraments are worthy but not Scripturally justified. No sacrament is efficacious without understanding and faith.
