an explanation by a Jewish Christian, Pastor Burt Yellin Hudson Taylor was the first successful missionary from Europe to bring the Gospel to thc people of China. Why did he succceed when others failed? Because he realized that it wasn't necessary to force European culture upon the Chinese as a part of the Gospel. He even adapted Chinese culture into his own life-style. Despite his success, he was despised by the other missionaries for "compromising" the Gospel for not making Western culture part and parcel of the "Gospel." There is much "alien" culture that surrounds Gentile Christianity, which makes it unpalatable to most Jewish people. Jews will nearly always reject the Gentile Jesus as being the Messiah, but will much more readily accept the Jewish Yeshua(Jesus) as being their Messiah. Most Messianic Jews are much more "zealous for the Law (Torah)" than their Gentile Christian counterparts. In this, they are following the example of the first century Messianic Jew, who were also "zealous for Torah" (Acts 15:19-21;21:17-27). Most Messianic Jews refrain from calling themselves Christians. which is Greek terminology. They prefer more hebraic terms, such as Messianic Jews.

What Is Messianic Judaism, and why are we under attack by "anti-missionaries"?
Most people think their respective religions are the ones that have all the answers - that they, and only they know God and the Bible better than anyone else. We, at The Refiner's Fire, believe that NO religion has all the answers because, as long as "man" with his human ego and limited mindset is involved in the equation, God's Word will always be subject to misinterpretation. However, we believe that Messianic Judaism is closer to the Truth than any other religion, as we are - to the best of our abilities - trying to sort the Truth from both the Jewish and the Christian beliefs: Jews know who YHWH is and that their promised Messiah is coming someday , but yet are blinded by their own traditions, perceptions, and rabbinic concepts. Christians know who Messiah is, but often desire to overlook or remove His Jewishness, and to separate Him completely from the Old Testament. Messianic Jews are trying to sort out the truths from both sides, while at the same time realizing that we are ALL looking at the world with "blinders" on, to a certain extent. We believe that Yeshua (Jesus), who was foreshadowed throughout the Tanach ("Old Testament") did NOT "do away with" the Law/Torah (God's original teaching and instruction), and that the Bible is

Judaism is almost 6000 years in existence and it is through the Jews that the Creator God spoke through to share His message to mankind and to bring forth the Jewish Messiah. Judaism believes in the God of the Scriptures (Old Testament), and that His Word is true. Judaism differs on Jesus being the Jewish Messiah, Jesus being the Son of God, Jesus being the Son of Man.

Messianic Judaism: A Christian Missionary Movement
Messianic Judaism is a Christian movement that began in the 1970s combining a mixture of Jewish ritual and Christianity. There are a vast and growing numbers of these groups, and they differ in how much Jewish ritual is mixed with conventional Christian belief. One end of the spectrum is represented by Jews For Jesus , who simply target Jews for conversion to Christianity using imitations of Jewish ritual solely as a ruse for attracting the potential Jewish converts. On the other end are those who don't stress the divinity of Jesus, but present him as the "Messiah." They incorporate distorted Jewish ritual on an ongoing basis. The movement has received criticism from mainstream Christian leaders, for these groups claim to believe in the

69. Messianic Judaism
IS THE CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT CALLED messianic judaism A FORM OF judaism? Is the Christianmovement that goes by the name messianic judaism a form of judaism?
http://www.jewsforjudaism.org/j4j-2000/html/library/messianicjudaism.html
IS THE CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT CALLED
"MESSIANIC JUDAISM" A FORM OF JUDAISM? By Gerald Sigal Is the Christian movement that goes by the name "Messianic Judaism" a form of Judaism? In essence, so-called "Messianic Jewish" groups claim that they represent a "completed form of Judaism" or "completed form of Jewishness" or "Biblical Judaism." In actuality, self-styled "Messianic Judaism" is a form of Christianity that mimics rabbinic Judaism. (The question of whether such groups are Christian cults is a Christian problem.)
Our goal here is to convey the understanding that Judaism and Christianity are two separate faith systems. A Christian who was born Jewish may call his belief by any name but it is still Christianity, not Judaism. There are radical differences between Judaism and Christianity. What makes Christianity Christian is its belief in "Jesus Christ: Son of God, God incarnate." What makes the Christian movement called "Messianic Judaism" Christian is its belief in "Jesus Christ: Son of God, God incarnate. What makes Judaism Jewish is Israel's covenantal relationship with God expressed through God's instructions to Moses on Mount Sinai, both Written and Oral. The early Christians replaced Torah with Jesus as the access to God; soon forgiveness of sin was said to be possible only through belief in Jesus. Theological reflection on the significance of Jesus ultimately led to the doctrine of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Judaism and Christianity are entirely different and essentially unrelated religions. The two religions bear different messages and distinctive meanings, each for its own faithful. The Christian concept of God is not the Jewish concept of God; in essence, their God is not our God. One cannot replace Torah with Jesus and still have a reason for Judaism or truthfully call the new entity "a form of Judaism." The respective adherents to Judaism and Christianity are part of distinct faith communities.

WHAT IS MESSIANIC JUDAISM?
M ESSIANIC JUDAISM is the term used to define a form of lifestyle and worship that fully identifies with Jewish customs and traditions while believing that Yeshua of Nazareth is the promised Messiah of the Jewish Scriptures. At the same time, Messianic Judaism holds most emphatically that it is part of the universal body of Messiah (the church) but claims the right to express itself, both in its daily life and worship style, in a way that agrees with its Jewish heritage. The primary belief of Messianic Judaism is that Yeshua is the redeemer spoken of in the Tenach. He is the Messiah for whom our Jewish people all over the world, and throughout history have been waiting for. Like other followers of Messiah, Messianic Jews celebrate that we are saved by faith in the blood atonement provided by Yeshua, and not on the basis of our own righteousness or good deeds which as a means of atonement fall far short of the requirement of Scripture (eg. Isaiah 64:5-6; Eccl. 7:20). Some Messianic Jews are much more “zealous for the Torah” than gentile Christian counterparts. In this, they feel they are following the example of the first century Messianic Jews, who were also “zealous for Torah” (Acts 15:19-21; 21:17-27).

- is not a new movement, but the resurgence of a very old movement. Messianic Judaism was the movement of the Schle'him "Apostles" and the community of Jewish and Non-Jewish believers "followers of the Messiah "Jesus'" in the first three centuries of Church history. Messianic Judaism is regarded by its followers as the latest stage in the development of authentic biblical Judaism. It is the religion "the form of worship" followed by Moses, David and the prophets. Brought to fulfillment through the coming of Yeshua "Jesus" the Messiah.

They will claim that just as there are Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionistbranches of judaism, messianic judaism is just another branch.

Can A Jew Believe in Jesus and Still Be Jewish? Most Jews would never consider believing in Christianity for a variety of reasons, including a strong feeling against abandoning their Jewishness and their people. Missionaries recognize this and try to convince Jews that believing in Jesus does not mean you stop being a Jew. They emphasize that Jesus and his disciples were Jews to make it seem a very Jewish thing to do.
In one sense, they have a point. According to Jewish law, if you are born a Jew, you will die a Jew. There is nothing you can do to convert out of the faith.
In reality the claim of the Missionaries is absurd. You can also be a mass-murderer and still be a Jew. That does not mean you are doing what Hashem wants. Or you can be a fool and be Jewish. Yet, just being Jewish does not make your foolishness kosher. Is It True That Jesus Fulfilled Over 300 Prophesies From The Old Testament? They claim that their belief in Jesus is based upon Old Testament prophecies, and that he is clearly the one that the Jewish people have been longing for as their Messiah.

What is Messianic Judaism?
Messianic Jews?....It’s a term that is being heard more and more these days. Succinctly defined, we are Jews who believe that Yeshua (the Hebrew name for Jesus) of Nazareth is the promised Messiah of the Jewish Scriptures. Because we believe Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah, we also believe in maintaining a Jewish lifestyle of faith. Hence, we celebrate all of the biblical holidays (i.e. Passover, Succot, etc.) as well as many of the customs which are consistent with the Scriptures. For much of history it has been assumed that Jewishness and Yeshua are mutually exclusive. Of course, it’s fine for any non-Jew to believe in Him-but a Jew? However, when one stops to study the actual history of this movement, it becomes clear that this assumption was not always the case. After all, this Messianic movement did not originate in Rome or Athens, but started in the land of Israel in the midst of the Jewish people. Most scholars agree that its leader lived a lifestyle consistent with first century Judaism. He worshipped on the "Shabbat" (Luke 4:16 ff.), celebrated all the Jewish holidays such as "Passover" and "Chanukah" (Matthew 26:17 ff.; John 10:22 ff.) and even wore the traditional; "tzitzit" (Matthew 9:20). Likewise, His Name "Yeshua" testifies to His Jewish identity, since it is Hebrew for "Salvation."

Contents The Suffering Servant Books Worth Reading News July 28, 2002 - Engish version of the site was launched. August 11, 2002 - a new article "The Suffering Servant" added. There is no such thing as Messianic Judaism. There is Christianity and there is Judaism. The whole difference between Christianity and Judaism is that Christianity believes in Jesus and Judaism does not. There are more than enough different Christian movements out there. Why one of these movements should be called Messianic Judaism? Christian missionaries invented the concept of Messianic Judaism in order to trap as many Jewish souls as possible. This is exactly what Paul taught them in Corinthians 1 (ch.9 v.20). "Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law." This why Christian missionaries behave like Jews in order to win the Jews. But the truth is that they a Christians. They may call it Messianic Judaism, but there is nothing Jewish about it. This is a pure Christianity. In fact, Messianic Judaism promotes anti-Semitism. Just read the following passage from New Testament (Titus 1:10-16).

Judaism and Jesus Don't Mix.
In the operation of this website, it is apparent a large body of so called Messianic "Jews" or "Hebrew" Christians are visiting (and emailing!). Perhaps 1 in 100 visitors are from these missionary groups. At these sort of levels I can no longer go on ignoring it - hence the necessity in my mind of this controversial article. My apologies to those people from all backgrounds who "just want to learn Hebrew". In particular I'd like to acknowledge that the vast majority of Christians do not engage in missionising Jews; if this is you I urge you to discontinue reading now. My intended audience is the Jewish reader, to become familiar with Messianic organisations before they knock on your door or give you a pamphlet in the shopping mall. This article is not intended to offend, rather it is a call for tolerance and mutual respect between two communities. Unfortunately, missionaries have always been a fact of Jewish life. I would also like to stress that the contents of this site are offered publically on the Internet to anyone - regardless of their faith or lack of it. To not do so would be discriminatory; and in fact I'm pleased if Christians in particular are drawn closer to their heritage through it. Although I'm not an expert on Jewish Law, Judaism does hold the rather tolerant idea that Christians (and Muslims) who follow the tenets of their faith "merit a place in the world to come". Naturally, I'm not talking of the membership of Al-Qaida or the Klu Klux Klan. This follows from the general principle "all the righteous of the world merit a place in the world to come" - the righteous being those who follow the

Messianic Nazirene
Nazirene means: "the keeper of the way" This web site is about discipleship becoming the Bride of Messiah and entering into an intimate relationship with the Son of God Only A True Messianic Disciple can learn the Mysteries of Creation directly from the One Teacher. The Disciple of The Way inherits the Promise of the Lord: "But you, do not be called 'Rabbi'; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren"
(Mt 23:8) the Disciple learns directly from Yeshua upon entering the Temple within.
The Essence of TheWay
While believers are saved by faith in Yeshua The path of the disciple is for those who Surrender to the Light and desire a life of total and complete intimacy with the Son of God.
For the Messianic Believer, these are truly confusing times! With the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls we now know conclusively that Yeshua was very Jewish in his teachings. Moreover, when we trace the teachings of Yeshua through the linage of the Gentile Church which came to be called Christian, we can easily see the adoption of not only Pagan Greco/Roman customs and traditions, but also their foundational system of beliefs. Thus, in light of modern archaeological discoveries and a more in depth study of history and the scriptures, both Jews and Christians alike are perplexed with respect to the question of what is the proper mixture of Judaism and what we know of genuine New Covenant thought.
