WHY FOLLOW ONE IMAAM OF FIQH ?
The meaning of Taqleed :
Literally means to be wearing a York. According to the Shariat it means to unconditionally accepting the view of a reliable, proper, authentic person in matters pertaining to Deen - Religion.
These days the one who follows any of the Mazhabs of the four great Imams of Jurisprudence, Imam Abu Hanifa (R.A) (80 - 150 A.H ); Imam Idris Shafi (R.A) (150 - 240 A.H); Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (R.A) (164 - 241 A.H ); Imaam Malik (R.A) is classified and termed Muqaleed.
Those who do not adhere to any of the four famous Mazhabs call themselves ghair Muqaleed or Ahle - Hadith or in some areas Salafi.
The use of the word Imam:
The word Imam as per the ideology explained by the Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat refers to the one who is an acclaimed, confirmed, reliable, proper and reputed scholar, guide and authority in Islaam. It does not refer to as some claim, to the person who receives Divine Revelation, or one who is Masoom (innocent) or one who can make Halaal - Haraam or vise versa or one who can abrogate the rules and regulation of Islaam, etc (Allaah protect us from such false beliefs which are kufr in nature).
The meaning of Mazhab:
Those who are viciously preaching against Taqleed pose this question to simple minded Muslims viz :- Are you Muhammadi or Hanafi ? The listener is completely confused and perplexed failing to realise that the Question itself is wrong. If someone has to ask, is it Monday or January ? Is this question in itself valid ? If someone has to ask, do you live in Durban (a city in KwaZulu Natal province) or Gauteng (another province) ? Is this question valid ? Note both these are invalid questions. One is supposed to ask to ask is it Friday or Saturday (this day or that day - not this day in comparison to a month).

Subject: beginning of a growing movement
To: sulaymanx@yahoo.com Sulayman,
Congratulations on your movement. Surely, I will be one of many who discovered you through the article in the Advocate magazine.
After browsing your website and reading the many incredibly hateful comments from homophobic muslims, I thought why would you chose to cause all this ruckus.
Then, I thought what if Gandhi gave up or Martin Luther King said,"it's too much trouble."
There will be many years and much tears shed(probably blood as well) until there is any semblance of tolerance in the Islamic community on gay rights. However, you can take comfort in having begun the movement.

PROPHET'S ACADEMY HADITH STUDIES LESSON 2 RELIABILITY AND APPLICATION OF HADITH GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
    TESTING HADITH
As already mentioned the best and ideal source of a hadith is the person of the Mesenger of Allah sws. Everything else equal a report directly attributed to the Prophet sws has highest acceptability. Farther away from the person of the Prophet sws a hadith less acceptable it is regarded. Overall there are a long list of principles in grading hadiths according to their reliability. The more important are as follows (in order of reliability):-
    1. It is explicitly attributed to the Prophet. 2. The direct reporter from the Prophet must have stated that he was present when the Prophet said or did it. 3. Each person in the chain must have stated that he heard it personally from the one higher up. 4. On scrutiny the generation/age gap between any two adjadent narrators must be reasonable. For example if B could not have been yet born when claims to have heard it from A it must be discredited. 5. Generally the report must fit historical fact.

    Q. Do I have to pay Zakah?
    A. Yes, it is a Fard (must) on every Muslim capable of paying it. It is
also one of the five pillars of Islam.
    Q. How often do I have to pay?
    A. For most items such as cash, stocks, gold, silver, it is paid once every lunar year (not solar year). For fruits, vegetables, and other produce, it is paid once only at the harvest time every time there is a harvest. For the items that require Zakah every year, it is better to fix a lunar month such as Ramadhan (for more reward) and pay during that month. Q. Who do I pay to? A. It is paid to the main eight categories mentioned in the Qur'an. Among the ones we face often now are the poor, the needy, the ones who owe a lot of debt, and in the sake of Allah (s.w.t.). You can pay it to the Masjid and write in the memo Zakah so that the people in charge will make sure it is spent in one of the eight categories. Q. What do I pay Zakah on?

Two people have been released since then in which one has been released on condition. Out of the remaining four, three have been sent to Kamunting detention center on a two year detention order whereas one more person is undergoing the initial sixty days detention period. The actual reason of their detention in not known and there has been no press news on this detention. Family members contacted say that they do not know anything about their detention order. It is believed that they have been arrested under the ISA because they are followers of the Shia teachings, a sect within the Muslim community. We are led to believe that these people were detained purely on the grounds of their faith. Those Arrested: Below are the details off those still in detention: 1) Name: Mr. Norman Basha

Did Rasullah (peace be upon him) or Ashaab (radhi Allahu anhum) wear one orrecommended wearing one? What do the four mazhabs say concerning Ta'weez?

Answers to Questions on Religion These Questions were received via email from different people all over the world. Readers may ask any question regarding Shari'ah on following email addresses: fatwa@binoria.org binoria@binoria.org By: Mufti Abdullah Shawkat Ques: Can a woman use non-human hair (synthetic materials, horse or camel hair) to attach to their hair for beautification?
Ans: To please the husband and for beautification the use of artificial hair by women is lawful and permissible.
(ref: Fataawa Hindiyah; vol.5 p-358) Ques: Please explain the Fiqh of an illegitimate child (its rights, who has the right of custody, who he/she has to observe Hijaab (veil).
      Ans:
However, if one of the parents or any child after the marriage is dead, than in the view of Shari'ah the illegitimate child cannot be the heir of the heritage. Ques: If an illegitimate child's father or mother was a non-Muslim who became Muslim and married and had children. What is the relationship between the illegitimate child and the new children which are born from the marriage (if both sets of children have one parent that is the same or both parents are the same being that the two parents had an illegitimate child before marriage then got married and had more children after marriage).
Ans: Although in relationship the illegitimate child will be in the same position as his other brothers and sisters and he will also belong to the same parents, yet in legacy of property there will be difference. Which is that if one of the parents or any child after the marriage is dead, than in the view of Shari'ah the illegitimate child cannot be the heir of the heritage.

IN THE NAME OF GOD THE BENIFICIENT THE MERCIFUL.
    Sunni-Shia Unity
A lecture by Shaykh .Ahmad Deedat The Following speech By Shaykh Ahmad Deedat, who is a world renowned Sunni scholar from South Africa was made following his trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran on 3 March , 1982.
    INTRODUCTION
In the Holy Quran, Allah (SWT) says "It is he who has sent his apostle with guidance and the religion of truth so that he may make it prevail over all religions even though those who worship false Gods may detest it" (Quran 9:33). Even though the United States, Russia and all the superpowers may detest it. Allah's promise is not conditional on the strength of the superpowers. In its widest sense the Islamic movement spans the entire ummah, in its narrowest it represents that part of the ummah which is most advanced in its struggle towards establishing Islam as a total way of life. This campaign against Iran is nothing new. Right from the beginning vested interests have carried on an unending campaign against the Islamic revolution in Iran. this evening our guest speaker, Mr. Ahmad Deedat who is a distinguished scholar of Islam, who hardly needs any introduction to the public and who has just returned from his trip to Iran, will present to us his first hand account on Iran. I now call upon Mr. Ahmad Deedat to speak to you.(applause).

Sunnah Mukkadah, Children of Step Parents, Bid'a, Religion's Role in Success in Life, Eid ul Adha
Q 1. Would somebody be committing a sin by leaving Sunnah Mukkadah Prayers without a genuine reason on a regular basis? If yes please give me authentic Hadith regarding the leaving of Sunnah Mukkadah prayers without a valid reason, and please cite what the four mazhabs say (Hanafi, Shafi, Maliki, and Hanbali) about the above question. A 1. In our five daily prayers we have some Rakíahs that are Fard and some that are Sunnah Muíakkadah and some that are Sunnah Ghair Muíakkadah (or Nawafil). The Sunnah Muíakkadah are those Sunnahs that the Prophet -peace be upon him- used to pray regularly along with Fard Rakíahs. Because he never missed them, they are called ìMuíakkadahî which means, ìemphasizedî. They are also called ìSunan al-Rawatibî. The Sunnah that he -peace be upon him- performed sometimes and did not do some other times are called ìSunan Ghair Muíakkadahî (or optional). It is reported by Imam Tirmidhi that the Prophet -peace be upon him- said, ìWhosoever will pray twelve rakíah (Sunnah) in a day and night, a house will be built for him in Jannah: four before Zuhr and two after Zuhr, two after Maghrib, two after ëIsha and two before Fajr.î (al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 380). There are many other Ahadith that specify the importance of these Sunnahs along with each particular Fard prayer. One should not miss the Sunnah Muíakkadah without any genuine reason. There are many blessings in these Sunnahs. According to some scholars one of the benefits of these Sunnahs is that they guard our Fard prayers. They compensate any deficiency or negligence in our Fard prayers. According to Imam Abu Hanifah, a person who neglects these Sunnahs persistently is a sinner, but if a person misses these Sunnahs occasionally, he is not a sinner.
