A number of music groups contribute to the various worship services at the church. In addition to the formal groups, many soloists and instrumental musicians are used extensively in the worship services. This is particularly true over the summer months. If you would like to participate in the music program of the church, please contact Rebecca Achenbach, Minister of Music or talk to any of the various choir members. Group Name Description Rehearsals Carillon Bell Choir The bell choir rings at a number of services and also occasionally supplements the accompaniment of the other choirs. It is open to all adult ringers. Music reading skills are preferred. Th 6:15 - 7:30 PM Chancel Choir The chancel choir is open to all adult singers. It provides opportunities to develop vocal and musical skills by singing the great works of sacred choral literature. They provide musical leadership during the 10:15 am Sunday worship as well as in seasonal concerts and musicals. Th 7:30 - 9:00 PM Children's Choirs The children's choir rehearses in conjunction with the children's Tuesday night program. They sing periodically throughout the year.

A Response to the Open Letter:
C.G. "Colly" Caldwell's Letter of June 30, 2000, mailed to the Co-Signers of the Open Letter, published from Harry Osborne's copy of the letter Note: The letter was written on the letterhead of Florida College

119 N. Glen Arven Avenue * Temple Terrace, Florida 33617 * Telephone (813) 988-5131 * Fax: (813) 899-6772 June 30, 2000 Mr. Harry Osborne
(Address Withheld) Dear brother Osborne, When I returned from a preaching trip this past Monday, on my desk was a package containing "An Open Letter: The Creation Account & Florida College." While it says, "An advance copy of this article has been provided to brethren Colly Caldwell, Ferrell Jenkins, and Shane Scott of Florida College...," it had obviously been circulated widely for some time, at least among the men who signed it. I have no way of knowing who else has seen it or been influenced by it. Since your name was listed as a co-signer, I presume that you take full responsibility for it. Ethically, of course, that requires your having personally examined the sources, directly studied the issues thoroughly, appropriately inquired about our beliefs, concurred in each statement contained therein, considered carefully the implications of each statement had it been directed to you, and met all criteria which you preach regarding the way brethren should deal with brethren. I am attaching a statement which sets forth the position I hold on these matters.

Mueller, representing The Evangelical United Brethren Church, and Bishop Lloyd C. Wicke of The Methodist Church joined hands at the constituting General Conference in Dallas, Texas. With the words, "Lord of the Church, we are united in Thee, in Thy Church and now in The United Methodist Church," the new denomination was given birth by two churches that had distinguished histories and influential ministries in various parts of the world. Theological traditions steeped in the Protestant Reformation and Wesleyanism, similar ecclesiastical structures, and relationships that dated back almost two hundred years facilitated the union. In the Evangelical United Brethren heritage, for example, Philip William Otterbein, the principal founder of the United Brethren in Christ, assisted in the ordination of Francis Asbury to the superintendency of American Methodist work. Jacob Albright, through whose religious experience and leadership the Evangelical Association was begun, was nurtured in a Methodist class meeting following his conversion.

For single-player, Heaven's Brethren is a fine set with decent attack power, albeit one with the highest level requirement in the game for the one combat type that levels the slowest, but in multiplayer, the role of the set
changes from offensive to defensive and some modifications to the set are necessary for a character using it to survive (and good luck trying to survive the cow level with this - the range of Dangoon's is too short and the damage just isn't enough to make a dent in an eight-player cow game). Dangoon's Teaching Reinforced Mace:
    Haemosu's Adamant Cuirass:

Raise the other hand if you've found one of these before. Everyone's hands up? Good. This armor is always the first piece everyone finds, so don't feel so special. Due to Blizzard's quirky ideas about Defense Ratings, Haemosu's has been outperformed by nearly every unique armor in the game because leans too hard on defense and not enough on things like faster hit recovery, resistances, or bonuses to life. Surprisingly enough, it is not the weakest part of the set: that dubious distinction can be saved for Taebaek's Glory. For the most part, it can be used by anyone who simply hasn't found or made anything better, but should be shelved until the set can be completed.

    Experts Agree: Linux Isn’t Perfect
    By Scot Finnie
Linux and open-source devotees have good reason to be proud of the software they support. And enterprise IT increasingly depends on Linux servers, the Linux desktop operating system, the Mozilla browser, and other open-source products. But that doesn’t mean that Linux is somehow less buggy or naturally more secure than Windows or other commercial software.Software is software, after all, and all software has bugs.
That's the thrust of Fred Langa's recent InformationWeek column, " Linux Has Bugs: Get Over It ." And the column isn’t just based on data supplied by CERT. He compared the numbers of major security updates for a popular Red Hat version of Linux and Windows XP, and you may be surprised by his results. What's more, Linux patches don't get to most end-user Linux desktops much quicker than Windows updates do.
TechWeb editor Larry Lange also tackled this topic in a recent TechWeb Security Tech Log. When he wondered whether Microsoft's ubiquitous security warnings and patches shouldn't drive IT to open-source solutions, he got a response from Slashdot enthusiast Przemek Skoskiewicz, who wrote: "You are nuts. The steady stream of patches of open-source offerings is no smaller than for their commercial brethren. Open source has its benefits, but better security is not yet its strong point."

    90. The Motor Is Running, But Brethren Are In Neutral
Great numbers of brethren are sitting like baby birds in a nest – their eyesclosed and their mouths wide open – just waiting for the next “neutral
    http://www.biblebanner.com/articles/general/motorrun.htm
The Motor Is Running, But Brethren Are In Neutral Just about my first memories of the term “neutral” was that it had to do with placing the gear shift on the Model “A” Ford in a position where you could release the clutch when the motor was running (we called them motors – not engines, as in “Ford Motor Company”). When you were in “neutral”, there was no movement of the car – it was just a “do nothing” position. You also had to remember, when parking your car on an incline, that it would surely roll backward or forward if you left the gear shift in “neutral”. Neutral simply meant that you were not in gear – you had no influence whatever on the motion of the car! I am seriously afraid that a lot of our brethren today are determined to operate in “neutral”! They don’t want to make any distinction between a false teacher and a sound teacher. They don’t want to take a position on fellowship which would make a distinction between darkness and light, between truth and error, or between sinfulness and righteousness – they simply want to smile and stay “neutral”. For years we have been trying to tell them that neutral (no position) is an open stand for the Devil – but they simply smile and go about their merry way being perfectly satisfied with staying in “neutral” – not really standing FOR anything and not really standing AGAINST anything! These brethren are about as useless to the cause of Christ as a Model “A” crank is to a new Ford automobile!

The drums of war, already loud, are daily being amplified by the megaphones of modern media. The U.S. government is adopting a doctrine of "pre-emptive war." There are large numbers of people in the United States who do not agree. We want to extend our hands to people all over the world to work together for peace, justice, economic equity, and environmental sanity. The United States government is, sadly, behaving like a global bully a role that alarms us greatly because of the threat of war and the destruction that it may rain down on children who have too long suffered for the fights of their fathers. It also increases the risks of terrorism here and all over the world because it is likely to further inflame angry passions, which are already too high. Our goal is to seek peaceful resolution of conflicts. We also want to strengthen international institutions so that they can accomplish that goal. The United States, against its own best traditions, is undermining the rule of law internationally by trying to muscle other countries as well as the United Nations to bend to its will by threatening the unilateral use of force.
