Scouts Canada and the Salvation Army have had a 60-year bond; providing the Scouting programme to any interested youth (not just Salvation Army members) through the Corps (churches) in the Canada and Bermuda Territory. Throughout many other countries there are to be found other Salvation Army Scout Organisations, all dedicated to the same goal of providing Scouting opportunities within a Christian environment. Camberwell Corps Home Page
Contents Our Guest Book appears after the Announcements. Please take a few moments to leave your message or comments. Introduction Camberwell Corps is the Salvation Army church serving its community in South East London. The Corps (No. 276) first opened its doors 119 years ago, on 30th May 1882, as the base from which it reaches out to bring the message of Jesus and his love to the people of the area. The Corps is part of The Salvation Army United Kingdom Territory with the Republic of Ireland (Territorial Commander: Commissioner Alex Hughes) and is in the London Central Division (Divisional Commander: Major John Wainwright) which covers the area where The Salvation Army began. We have strong links too with William Booth College at Denmark Hill (Principal: Lt.Col. Robert Street) and many officers will remember the 'village' as their earthly home for a while. The Corps is Covenant Partner with Springfield Lodge Resettlement Centre, also in Camberwell. The centre is part of the Army's Social Services Children and Families ministry and takes homeless young men who need help. Their site is listed in the Links section. We also have our own very close community involvement through The Dawn Project.

97. The Mystery Worshipper: Loughborough Salvation Army Corps, Loughborough, England
Comments from a visitor to a service at the local church.
http://ship-of-fools.com/Mystery/2001/286Mystery.html
286: Loughborough Salvation Army Corps, Loughborough, England
Index of Reports
Mystery Worshipper: Brick
The church: Loughborough Salvation Army Corps, Loughborough, England
Denomination: Salvationist
The building: Modern brick building with simple decor and in good condition. Light and airy.
The neighborhood: The corps is situated close to several pubs, and some distance from the main residential areas of the town.
The cast: The service was led by a stand-in minister (a major) whose name I did not catch. The church's leader is Major Julie Webb.
What was the name of the service?
Evening Praise. How full was the building?
The building has a small worship space which would be pushed to seat 75. There were seven people in the congregation, plus about 13 in the choir and band. Did anyone welcome you personally?
Several people came to welcome me and ensure that I had the correct books for the service. I had arranged in advance to visit, but I feel sure they take this care over each newcomer. Was your pew comfortable? The seating was chairs arranged in rows but not locked together. They were about average on the comfort scale but had no slots to put service books in.
