INDIAN TEMPLES
108 Vaishnava Divya Desangal
Among the various temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu, there are 108 temples which are designated to be DIVYA DESAMS. These are actually the places worshipped and sung by Alwars, the saintly poets who immersed themselves in the divine ocean of Lord Vishnu. Their whole life was devoted to the the 12 Alwars had Thus, 106 temples have been addressed by the Tamil Alwars, who were pillars of the Sri Vaishnava tradition that wasto evolve in Tamilnadu. The contrast in the nature of these temples is stunning, given the diversity in the Indiansubcontinent. Even a virtual visit to these 106 shrines across the nation, is quite an experience, and is illustrative of this contrast, given the difference in the nature of temples in the various regions such as the Kaveri basin, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, the Tirunelveli region, the Gangetic plains and the Himalayas. 67. Vaishnava
vaishnava. The doctrine of the avataras comes for the first time in the BhagavadGita. Six of the eighteen Puranas are traditionally considered as vaishnava.
http://philtar.ucsm.ac.uk/encyclopedia/hindu/devot/vaish.html
Vaishnava
Doctrines Vaishnavas worship Vishnu in his various forms and are one of the three major groups of Hinduism, the others being Shaivas and Shaktas.
In the trinity of Vishnu, Shiva, and Brahma, Vishnu is the sattva quality of a centripetal tendency towards light and truth, which holds the universe together by pervading all existence. Vishnu comes from a root meaning "to pervade," and he is known as the Pervader. Thus Vishnu dwells in everything and defeats the power of destruction. Shiva is the centrifugal tendency of destruction and as life depends on death so Vishnu and Shiva are interdependent. As Vishnu pervades the universe, he is the aim and hope of all beings that must die. Vishnu is the source of life and is identified with the world of dream, where prototypes are conceived.
The Vaishnavas distinguish five forms of God: in his transcendent form; the avataras, which are incarnations of God sent to save the dharma, cosmic law, and mankind, with Vishnu as an essentially human character; the vyuha, emanations of his power, as Vasudeva-Krishna, Samkarsana, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha, who play a part in Vishnu's creation, preservation, and absorption of the universe; the immanent God; and the image or statue.
The Bhagavad Gita is the main religious text of the Vaishnavas and the source of many of their beliefs. This text is set in the Mahabharata and tells of Krishna explaining a real life dilemma for Arjuna. It is in the form of a conversation on the battlefield of Kuruksetra before the start of the war. This popularises Upanisadic teachings and yoga, holding out the hope of spiritual progress to those involved in the affairs of the world. By fulfilling one's duty through disinterested action, the path of salvation is open. The doctrine of the avataras comes for the first time in the Bhagavad Gita.

72. THE BHAKTA PROGRAM
Presents the systematic activities of vaidhisadhana-bhakti as practiced by contemporary vaishnava groups.
http://www.harekrsna.com/science/bhakta/bhakta.htm
THE BHAKTA PROGRAM "King Ambarisa first of all engaged his mind on the lotus feet of Lord Krsna; then, one after another, he engaged his words in describing the transcendental qualities of the Lord, his hands in mopping the temple of the Lord, his ears in hearing of the activities of the Lord, his eyes in seeing the transcendental forms of the Lord, his body in touching the bodies of the devotees, his sense of smell in smelling the scents of the lotus flowers offered to the Lord, his tongue in tasting the tulasi leaf offered at the lotus feet of the Lord, his legs in going to places of pilgrimage and the temple of the Lord, his head in offering obeisances unto the Lord, and his desires in executing the mission of the Lord. All these transcendental activities are quite befitting a pure devotee." "...Unless the mind is fixed on the lotus feet of the Lord by constant remembrance, such transcendental engagements are not practical. In the devotional service of the Lord, therefore, these prescribed activities are called arcana, or engaging all the senses in the service of the Lord. The senses and the mind require engagements. Simple abnegation is not practical. Therefore, for people in general - especially those who are not in the renounced order of life - transcendental engagement of the senses and the mind as described above is the perfect process for transcendental achievement, which is called yukta in the Bhagavad-gita. Bhagavad-Gita 6.18, Purport

Purpose
O ur purpose in publishing Sri Vaishnava Toshani is to fulfill the order of our Gurudevas, and since we have been brought to the shore of the ocean of nectar by their mercy, to try to distribute a drop of that nectar. We have no desire to inflict our speculative opinions on our readers; rather we are endeavoring for self-purification by the glorification of the Lord and His devotees. Such subject matters are beyond the approach of our mundane senses, so this attempt will utilize the words of the great souls themselves, lest we fall victim to our own prejudiced, faulty reasoning. At the same time, we do not wish to repeat these words in a dry way, as a tape recorder or parrot; we will try to see these words through the light of those who have heard them and have dedicated their lives to following them. We do not claim to have a monopoly on the Truth, nor are we the sole agents for Its dispensation. We are only trying to purify ourselves by some absorption in higher subjects, and thus we endeavor in this way. We invite our readers to chastise us for our mistakes in this endeavor, and we pray for your good wishes, so that we may stay on the path of this Truth. Following in the footsteps of our predecessors, we must at this time invoke the blessings of

Surrendering all actions to the Lord, 2.) Promoting harmony among all faiths, and 3.) Serving the poor. We follow the traditions of Shri Ramanuja (1017-1137) who emphasized the above goals to his disciples and spread the Vaishnava philosophy to different parts of India.

CONTACT Sri Sri Guru Gaurangau Jayatah Bhakti Yoga the spiritual teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu You can experience Sri Krishna. By your soul's experience you may have perception of Him. Your eye's perceptions and your ear's perceptions are not one and the same, they are different, and similarly the soul's perception is different from the experiences you have through your senses. The soul may have such a high experience and understanding, but it will have to soar up through devotion to Krishna and then draw that sort of ecstasy. The individual soul is feminine, in its intrinsic nature. When the soul is approaching Sri Krishna, the first conception she will have will be of the Name of Krishna, the sound aspect. Then, engaging in proper production of the Divine Name, she will get realization of Krishna's Form. The sound will show His Figure, Colour and Beauty. Afterwards she will be able to come in contact with His Qualities. Next she will find that there are so many servitors around Him. Then, with all these mixed together, she will find that the pastimes are revealed, and she will find she has a particular place in those pastimes. The soul will find herself living in the harmonious movement of pastimes, the playful life. In that dynamic harmony your innermost soul will have a part to play, and you will find your heart is filled with joy. You will find yourself overjoyed.

Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada explains in the purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 7.5.23-24, hearing from realized devotees is an important part of advancing in Krishna consciousness: While hearing is the first process in developing Krishna consciousness, chanting the Hare Krishna mantra is the second. This mantra consists of the holy names which, unlike ordinary words, when uttered place one into immediate contact with God. By repeated, attentive chanting of these names, a person cleanses his or her mind and develops spiritual consciousness, as well as transcendental bliss. The Transcendental Chanting Machine below can assist you in chanting Hare Krishna. Just read along as the names of the Lord appear in the window. The speed of the chanting is adjustable. Above is beautiful Krishna. Although He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, He enjoys pastimes as a cowherd boy in rustic Vrndavan.
