The purpose of the archive is to document the history of women's involvement in architecture by collecting, preserving, storing, and making available to researchers the professional papers of women architects, landscape architects, designers, architectural historians and critics, and urban planners, and the records of women's architectural organizations, from around the world. The IAWA focuses primarily on collecting the papers of those who practiced at a time when there were few women in the field (before the 1950's). The IAWA collects this information to fill serious gaps in the availability of primary research materials for architectural, women's, and social history research. The IAWA also collects books, biographical information, and published materials as part of its mission to act as a clearinghouse of information about all women in architecture, past and present.

    Art and Architecture
Hello to anyone who's stumbled into this folder. As the name suggests, this is for materials pertaining to art and architecture. Please poke around it at your leisure - there are a few images, some gopher bookmarks and some texts. At the moment, though, I think it'd be fair to say that the folder is, well, a little lean. I'm hoping to change that. When time permits, I'll be addding to it myself. For now, I'm encouraging anyone and everyone to submit reviews, essays, articles, images and so forth. These might be things you're working on yourself, or they might be essays and images you've found on the net, etc. Whatever the case, please feel free to contribute. If you have any questions or comments, I can be reached at art@eserver.org . Feel free to drop me a line. Greg Bolton

Look around in some of the other folders for essays, images, etc. Because space on the Server is finite, I didn't want to copy things here that can already be found elsewhere on the Server. So look around a bit (the Cultural Theory Multimedia and New Stuff folders are good places to start).
