A research group in the Department of Plant Biochemistry, Center for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Lund University, Sweden Chloroplasts and mitochondria are energy-converting organelles of eukaryotic cells. They also contain small, specialised, functional genomes.
Their genetic and energy-converting systems are bacterial in origin. But most genes for chloroplast and mitochondrial components are now found in the cell nucleus. So why did some genes move, while others did not?

69. Biomedical Sciences | General Information
Offers M.S., Ph.D. and D.O./Ph.D. degrees in anatomy, biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, pharmacology, and physiology.
http://www.healthsciences.okstate.edu/biomedical/index.htm
Biomedical Sciences offers M.S., Ph.D. and D.O./Ph.D. graduate degree programs in six different areas:
  • Anatomy Biochemistry Cell Biology Microbiology Pharmacology Physiology
The courses of study are designed around departmental and interdisciplinary guidelines which require the student to demonstrate classroom and laboratory competence in the selected field of basic biomedical science. The interdisciplinary approach recognizes that contemporary research requires expertise in a discipline as well as several topic areas. Specific requirements of the Graduate College are listed in the Oklahoma State University Catalog. Click HERE to view the catalog online.
