Interactive Crystallography
This page allows the user to choose from among the 32 crystallographic point groups, enter the values of the relevant elastic constants, and view the resulting Young's Modulus representation surface. In order to use this package, you must have access to Xmaple and support for HTML forms. Now you can view longitudinal piezoelectric surfaces as well! The first time you use this package you will need to follow the instructions given in the link "First Use Ever." IMPORTANT NOTE: When you are finished using Maple, do NOT quit it from the Maple window. Maple starts subprocesses that will not be killed unless you close Maple by clicking "Quit Maple" inside your Web browser. You can either chooose a point group and enter the values of the elastic constants or choose from among some predefined crystals.

This software is FREE to ACADEMIC users. Commercial users must obtain permission for its use
    Oscail tutorials
including a tutorial on structure solution and ten sample data sets are available for teaching purposes
This Windows Software provides an integrated high quality system for solving, refining and examining small molecule crystal structures on a PC.
The pictures produced range from high quality HPGL to photo realistic rendered 3D.
Rendered movies are effective and easy to make using RASMOV. Software for Powder pattern simulation and the detection and display of voids is also available.
The programs have been compiled using an optimising compiler (optimised for Pentium) and use full 32 bit windows code. They are as as fast or faster than any other versions.
SHELX programs should only be used by approved SHELX users. SHELX forms are available from http://shelx.uni-ac.gwdg.de/SHELX/

The Crystallography Centre at NUI, Galway is dedicated to the determination of molecular structure by x-ray diffraction techniques.
Our interests range from Protein crystallography through Small molecules to Powder diffraction. Powder diffraction work for industry is undertaken on a regular basis
The centre has developed an integrated WINDOWS software system, Oscail , for small molecule structure determination and visualisation which uses SHELX-S and SHELX-L, ORTEX and Raster3D. Software for the simulation of POWDER patterns has also been developed. This software (free to non-profit academics) is currently in use in many crystallographic groups worldwide. Eile
