Burkill is equally well known for his research in analysis and the excellent teaching books which he wrote. He research is introduced in [1] by saying:- Burkill's work is all in the theory of functions of a real variable with its main emphasis on theories of differentiation and integration. RECTOR’S REPORT
Christ is Risen! What an astonishing fact that we celebrate each Easter. It changes absolutely everything in our lives now and for ever. In this world Jesus is present with us, closer to us than can be imagined. His presence, God and the Holy Sprit’s presence walks with us, celebrates and consoles us and gives us the strength to carry on, the strength to forgive. Elsewhere in this newsletter you will read about the proposed possible changes to our church interior. The main reason for needing changes is that our sanctuary area is cramped and crowded. It is very difficult to climb the steps for communion and presents an obstacle course of feet and legs to navigate. The choir and the organ are not at a comfortable place for each other either. Bringing the altar closer to the congregation is an important symbolic step too and either possible version will bring a better experience of worship. Our church is an historical and beautiful building. It will always stay that way but it was built for another age when communion was perhaps 4 or 6 times a year.
