two solid roller bearings for the crank axle). That's it yes, one more thing Allthe people and companies mentioned were really helpful - john Wale, William
http://www.haraldmmueller.de/midi_en.htm
MIDI-fying a 20er crank organ
Probably things like the following have been done by the "gurus" too numerous times to report them - but when the (borrowed) 20er in my basement played my own arrangement directly from my laptop on (almost) the first attempt, I felt somewhat proud! The following gives a short explanation of the various parts. A more detailed explanation, also regarding the sources of the parts, can be found when following the links:
  • The laptop feeds, from its serial port (COM1 on Windows NT), a Midiman Biport2x4 , which converts its input to real MIDI. The Biport feeds its MIDI signal via a MIDI cable to an MTP-3 electronics board from John Wale. 20 of the MTP-3's 28 note outputs are connected via a long cable to 20 organ valves (Peterson 90 ohm, 5/8" pallets - I found no cheaper ones :-) ) that open channels on a small wooden board Internally, the channels go to one end of the wooden board, where they exit at a distance of 3.8 millimeters - the distance of the holes on the 20er's tracker bar. When a valve opens, it is exactly as if a hole appeared in the paper roll - the air escapes, and the pipe of the organ sounds. The wooden board with the valves sits on top of the tracker bar. Thus, no change to the organ was needed. The weight of the board+valves is enough to keep the connection air-tight (aided by a piece of a some tight fabric I found in my workshop - leather would probably be better).

"Summary of many true conspiracies on money, One World Government, education, banks, suppressed inventions, energy, wars, globalization, free trade, privatization, the Illuminati, the work force and much more ... Startling conspiracies and facts of the present time. Have we all been distracted and conned into doing the wrong thing? ... Many are suffering without knowing the cause of their suffering. Knowing the cause of current problems will help us to avoid them, and to do something more beneficial. Most are deceived into doing the wrong things. Therefore they are unhappy. However, if they knew what was right, and did it, they would be happy. In addition to explaining what is behind the world system, this report offers great hope and solutions, which many people are not aware of."

"There is a lot of discussion going on about crop circles. Many people think the crop formations are just a joke. They think that hoaxers going around with stomper boards make all the crop circles. Then there is a group who is convinced that at least part of the circles are a phenomenon that cannot be explained. Not with the knowledge we have right now. And of course there are people who simply don't know what to think of the patterns. Bert Janssen read in the late 80's for the first time about crop circles and he definitively belonged to the first group. He was convinced that everything was a hoax. Then in 1994 Bert had a strange encounter with a crop circle in Holland. From that moment on Bert got more interested in the circles. Now, after many years of 'research', he definitively belongs to the second group. He is convinced we are dealing with a true phenomenon. In the following sections you can find out why this is so."

Licht's solo journeys are the ultimate forum for his all-encompassing guitar approach, and Plays Well is the most ambitious display so far of his ever-morphing world of sound and vision. 'Remington Khan' is a spiral staircase of note-climbing and tone-pulling, as Licht patiently builds a brain-stretching pyramid of guitar blocks, in what he considers a tribute both to Henry Flynt's masterful 1981 violin meditation 'You Are My Everlovin' and to Licht's friend and colleague Jim O'Rourke. 'The Old Victrola' sandwiches two variations on Captain Beefheart's classic 'Wel' (one a detonating guitar accompaniment, the other a meditative organ hymn) around a Warholian re-coloring of 70's disco."

A Brief History Of Wigganess (Probably a Part 1) After ten minutes of exhaustive mind scrambling, our researchers (okay, me) have found that the history of white people pretending to be black goes back far in the USA. We start with one of the founding fathers:
Thomas Jefferson - Call the father of the Declaration Of Independence and the overrated college of Edgar Allan Poe and Olden Polynice a "proto-wigga." Jefferson was not so much into African culture as he was into African women...if you know what I mean. Jefferson loved his slaves a little more than most. Impregnated a teenaged Sally Hemmings on multiple occasions, dragging her to Paris to escape persecution by VD carrying freemasons such as Benjamin Franklin and bi-polar sufferers such as John Adams.
John Hancock - Another proto-wigga. Mainly 'cause he grew up at a sugar plantation in the Virgin Islands. But also 'cause he was a bootlegger, so he was definitely down with illegal drug dealing and signing his name all fancy. Not really defining wigga characteristics but good enough for a proto.
Andrew Jackson - Crazy muthafuckin' president from Tennessee. Killed plenty of honky British soldiers at the Battle of New Orleans, long before it was a corrupt murder capital. Held big-ass House Party/Cookout after inauguration. Let a bunch of Tennessians go wilding in the White House.

The Bag Balm Story JOHN MAHONEY Posted 1/10/2000
    STANSTEAD, QUEBEC

Now then, answer me this: What do Country Superstar Shania Twain, Dr. A.C. Daniels, and Yours Truly have in common? The magic words are Bag Balm, surely one of science's boons to mankind and today's "hot product." Dr. Daniels makes it. Shania says she rubs it all over her lovely body. And I work it into my winter-roughened heels to regain that skin-so-smooth feeling. Bag Balm is a salve a soothing compound of petrolatum, lanolin, and a small amount of antiseptic whose healing properties approach the power of myth among the cognoscenti. It's a veterinary product and farmers have taken it for granted for decades. Indeed, Dr. A.C. Daniels makes it very clear in all his promotional literature that Bag Balm is for animal use only. And, please, keep it out of the reach of children... However, those in-the-know have enthusiastically smeared it on various portions of the human anatomy for divers afflictions for years and years. They lavish praise on this greasy unguent that comes in the green can decorated with a dangling udder. If you suffer from the heartbreak of chapped hands or rough and horny feet, or if your milk cow has a caked bag, bunches, and sore and tender teats, this is the product for you.

Just ask that poor Russian kid who was arrested for doing nothing more than talking about the Adobe copy-protection schemes in a public forum. These are the same folks who want to license software in such a way that critical reviews would be deemed illegal by license agreement. This is serious stuff. The fact that the general news media seems nonplussed by all this concerns me greatly. The press advisory also made clear that a number of Asian and African ambassadors were invited. No mention was made of Germany or France. They've already signed on the WIPO dotted line. On the invitation list were people from countries like Albania, Burkina Faso, and Croatia. Apparently these were the folks who needed to have a chat. McCullagh evidently got into this event and took some pictures, which are posted on his site. The event looks to have been the typical dreadful gathering of stuffed shirts. The problem is, these are dangerous stuffed shirts that seem to have things their way all the time.
