Monitoring and managing complications and risks associated with this surgery.
    • Assessing outcomes and complications with a view to improved surgical techniques, perioperative care and long term care of patients with a Lap-Band in situ. Minimizing any risks possibly associated with weight loss by monitoring biochemical and nutritional factors.

Chuck Dixon needs no introduction for long-time comics fans. His work on The Punisher Nightwing , and countless other titles has made him a fan-favourite.
Given Dixon's prominent place in the Bat-universe, the task of interviewing Chuck for Silver Bullet Comics fell to our resident Bat-expert, Loren Di Iorio.
Loren Di Iorio: When we see DCU products like Dix San Chinese Food or Dixon's Choice Cola, do those in-jokes come about from your suggestions, or are they the work of the letterer?
Chuck Dixon: What a great question! I don't have a large enough ego to suggest that stuff. That's the editors and pencilers having fun at my expense. LTD: Other subtleties that pop up from time to time include the names of sports teams in the Gotham Gazette, or the Bludhaven Bulletin - teams like the Gotham Monarchs or the Bludhaven Brawlers. How much of a sports fan are you? Would you be interested in creating a story based on a major sporting event, like the World Series or the Super Bowl, where Nightwing might have to prevent, let's say, Kite-Man from screwing up the game?

Alfred Herbert John Andrews Collection Diary: August 4, 1914 - January 20, 1915 When war broke out on August 4th, 1914 , I was spending holidays at Gimli, Manitoba. the papers were full of the "Calls for Men". I did not think very seriously of it, till a conference was held in the office at which it was pointed out that as I was Canadian born and had no ties, it was my duty to enlist. I was suffering from a rupture, sustained playing football, and gave that as an excuse for not enlisting. However, people kept asking me to enlist with and others asked if I intended to go, until I couldn't stand it any longer and on August 27th, 1914 , I made up my mind to enlist. I was at a party at Mrs. St. Louis' home that evening when someone made a statement about enlisting. Theo. Gunn said, "I'd enlist if anyone would go with me." I told him I was going to join the Fort Garry Horse in the morning and he said he'd come with me. I don't think he wanted to go but he was game and wouldn't back down.
On August 28th I went to the office and handed over my work to Sid Goldstine and together with Theo. Gunn went to the Headquarters of the Fort Garry Horse at Maryland Ave. opposite the Mulvey School and was sworn in. We were alloted to A squadron under Capt. Bedson. Claude Gadd of Willis' office was Squadron Sergeant Major and Henry Copeland of the County Court was a Corporal. No further duty was imposed on us that day but on the 29th I reported at 9 AM and ran up and down the Mulvey School ground till 11. At 2 we fell in again and took a long route march. My feet ached and in spite of the fact that I was in fairly good condition from football, I was tired.
