Paul Levy's Little Page on the Net Hi There! You have some how happened upon the Home Page of Paul Levy. I work and manage an E-Business Implementation and Consultancy business in Wales in the UK. I took the trouble of registering paullevy.co.uk as a personal brand for me. We all do different things throughout our lives the one thing that stays the same is our names. For most people it is probably worth establishing an online brand (you never know in the future no one my use phone numbers but just wen address and e-mails in unified messaging systems). Anyway that's enough from me for now if you would like to check out a proper web site or I have convinced you that yopu need to register your own domain name as your brand click here www.livesolutions.co.uk We can also make sure you get found, if you want to be ;o) you are reading this! The year was 1960 and a guitar-playing drop-out with long hair had just arrived in Chicago to audition for a folk festival. Paul Levy recalls how he took in young Bobby Allen Zimmerman
Friday May 11, 2001
The Guardian

So Bob Dylan is going to be 60, too. Funny, when he slept on my floor for a few nights in 1960, I had thought he was younger than me. Of course, he wasn't called Dylan then. He was Bobby Allen Zimmerman, a drop-out from the University of Minnesota, just another Jewish kid with long hair, a guitar and ambitions to be a somebody in the kind of music that was then dominated by Pete Seeger and his group, the Weavers. Dylan - it's only fair to call him by the name he made his own legally two years later - was a wannabe folk performer waiting for an opportunity to audition for the first annual University of Chicago Folk Music Festival. He did get a try-out, but he failed. The poor kid wandered around looking miserable. He was completely alone, without friends or acquaintances. And he didn't have anywhere to stay.

My biggest investment is regional: $400 million to add runways at Philadelphia International Airport, dramatically expanding our national and international business and tourism potential. Next would be $240 million to buy down the wage tax for the next few years to 3.5 % until new job growth replaces lost revenues. We can reverse Philadelphia’s decades-long job decline, expand high-skill jobs that will retain college students, while creating new opportunities for neighborhood residents. Third, I’d allocate $215 million towards expanding the Pennsylvania Convention Center. If the labor and management issues can be resolved, a professionally run, expanded Center will sustain our hotels and restaurants and animate new areas of the city. $75 million could match other contributions and transform the Benjamin Franklin Parkway by bringing Calder and Barnes to Philadelphia, cover the expressway at Logan Circle, provide a dedicated Phlash service connecting the Parkway to the Independence Visitors Center, AMTRAK, SEPTA, and a new underground garage at Eakins Oval.

THE UNIVERSE IS DREAMING ITSELF AWAKE
    by Paul Levy
When you begin to spiritually awaken, it is like waking up inside of a dream and recognizing that everything you are experiencing is nothing other than a very convincing projection, or display of your mind. The boundary between inner and outer, between dreaming and waking starts to dissolve, and you begin to realize that the same dreaming mind that is dreaming your dreams at night is dreaming your life. You realize that there is a Deeper Dreaming Self that is having a dream and we are it!
This Deeper Dreaming Self is active in us at all times and is continually seeking to express it itself. If we recognize the dreaming process that is happening right now, we can step into it and help it unfold consciously. It will activate our own inherent process of awakening and reconnect us with ourselves.
It is as though there is a dream that is trying to be dreamt through each and all of us both individually and collectively. The universe is seen as a field not separate from and through which this deeper, dreaming process is continually expressing it itself.
Recognizing the deeper dream, or archetypal myth that we have been unconsciously acting out in our waking life reconnects us not only with the deeper ground of the psyche but also with other people, as everybody is seen to be fellow actors in a divine drama. It takes one's life out of a purely personal framework and gives it a deeper sense of meaning, which makes suffering so much more bearable.

Re: Donato v. Moldow, No. BER-L-6214-01 Dear Judge Russello: I write to you as counsel for a potential amicus curiae in this case about the request for an expedited subpoena to the Internet Service Provider ("ISP") VantageNet, seeking information that might lead to the identification of several dozen individuals who have posted derogatory comments about several public officials in the Borough of Emerson, New Jersey. This subpoena request raises several concerns. The persons who posted these comments are likely to live in Emerson, where they are subject to the governmental authority that the plaintiffs in the case may wield over them. The plaintiffs have made clear that they are very angry about these statements, as they are entitled to be given the nature of the comments, which, if the allegations in the complaint are to be believed, range from some specific factual charges of a potentially damaging nature to other comments which make clear that the posters detest the officials. However, the Supreme Court of the United States has held that the First Amendment protects the right to speak anonymously, McIntyre v. Ohio Elections Comm., 514 U.S. 334 (1995), and in a recent case the Appellate Division promulgated strict guidelines to balance the rights of anonymous speakers in keeping their anonymity against the right of companies that have been criticized on the Internet to vindicate their rights under contract and tort law to be free of defamatory speech and employees revealing trade secrets. Dendrite v. Doe, 2001 N.J. Super. Lexis 300 (App. Div. 2001). This case presents an even more serious situation, of course, because the speech is about public officials. And we have substantial concerns about whether the notice requirements and the substantive standards of Dendrite have been satisfied in this case.

At the Almeida (until Feb. 20) is Peter Gill's new play "Certain Young Men." The critics here have, on the one hand, condemned the tone of this play as just another instance of gay self-loathing; but they have, on the other hand, been too impressed by the performances to dismiss the piece. It features eight youngish men, ranging from baby-faced to balding, every one of whom acquits himself with either wit or grace, and sometimes both. Sean Chapman is Robert, who comes on in the second half as the bereaved man who's achieved wisdom. Danny Dyer is the youngest, Terry, a self- mutilator who is not quite – or rather not yet – a rent boy. Andrew Lancel is Andrew, a lower-middle class man who leaves Tony (Peter Sullivan), who has a similar background and tastes. Jeremy Northam gives an outstanding performance as David, an anguished doctor, in love with Christopher (Andre Woodall), a middle-class man who chooses to work as a garage mechanic. Likewise Michael (John Light) is a student who under-achieves by working as a hospital aide while carrying on a desultory affair with a beautiful Glasgow waif, Stewart (Alec Newman). The characters' stories unfold on a nearly bare stage without walls or proscenium. Nathalie Gibbs's non-set consists of stacks of books (recognizable as Proust), a bottle of Scotch, some beer, and a few piles of junk. When the actors are not on, they sit in chairs at the back of the stage and listen. The dialogue they are hearing is about gay relationships being fluid, breaking up more easily than they are formed – but that is not exclusively true of same-sex relationships, is it? The striking thing about Mr. Gill's dialogue is its freedom from camp. Lines such as "What is gay culture? The make of your underpants" are delivered without a hint of cute. True, the notion of gay community is undermined: "We don't," explains one of the characters, "have a homeland."
